I have a buyer who is trying to scam big time. She bought 2 identical lightweight sweaters at the same time in different colors. I shipped them both together Priority Mail in a USPS PM box. She then opened a return on one sweater because she says she didn't like the color. I accepted and uploaded a return label.
This morning I get a notice from ebay stating she has opened a not delivered item on the other sweater. In her opening she states that the other sweater she didn't like the color and she didn't get this sweater so to just refund her payment. This I know is impossible because the box I always tape really well closed and had it been opened then she would have filed that day, as I uploaded the tracking number to the item when shipped.
On my items sold page it shows delivered. What I am worried about not only because of the $$ but also is that because she is not getting to keep both items for free which seems to be what she is doing because she has yet to return the other sweater, can she leave me negative feedback still even though she has filed false claims?
I have TRS status due to 100% positive feedback and am afraid she will leave negative because she's already proven she's a liar.

You have two choices:
One, refund the money and done.
Two...
Don't worry about the feedback.
You'll be able to think more clearly about how to handle this.

Regarding the INR claim, upload your 'delivered' tracking into the case notes.
Regarding the remorse return, you don't have to refund until the item is returned to you.
Regarding bad feedback... cross that bridge if you come to it.

Actually, that is not all she has proven. It would be a simple matter to get both of these for free and not return a thing, but this person was not that smart. NEVER live and conduct your business in fear of the (not so almighty ) red donut review. Feedback does not count for anything anymore.
Reply to the INR case as suggested, but don't be surprised if the INR changes to SNAD when the buyer loses due to delivery confirmation.

report the buyer!
block the buyer!
fight the case. Don't just give in.
Don't get worked up on the negative feedback if left. You can reply to the feedback and you can also do a follow up on the feedback you left them.

I have reported her, not sure if it makes a difference, and have also blocked her as well. I am fighting the case.

Feedback is a one way street that buyers use it as leverage. I've seen negs on items being 3 days late, a total joke.

After 20 years selling on eBay I've learned that sellers will get an occasional negative no matter what you do. Anyone who looks at your feedback will see your history and you do have the opportunity to respond to feedback received. Just be professional in your response.
Instead just focus on resolving these cases. No refund for the sweater she wants to return until you get it back. As for the missing sweater simply upload the tracking number. She doesn't get another bite of the apple when losing the case.

Don't mind me but by fighting you still need to follow proper process or you will lose.
With the INR case I am mildly concerned, it seems you didn't purchase the labels on ebay?
So you didn't combine the orders through bulk shipping, but purchased an outside label and used one tracking number for both orders? I'm not familiar with how such a case would turn out.
With the SNAD return simply issue the refund upon receipt of the return.

Look at the weight on the package. That is your proof on the 2 items in the box. If you have sold other of the same item Ebay will be able to see the weight also.

eBay will not take the weight into account.

Also USP charges or refunds your account via eBay if there is a discrepency.

Thanks guys. She closed the case stating that she had the package sent to her mom and then her mom dug deeper into the box that was delivered on the 27th and found the other sweater. Now she has decided to keep both. SMH I think we all know she knew she was busted. Thanks for the help, it kept me calm.

Meh, could be telling the truth, not all buyers realize sellers combine shipping, not all sellers do either.
Glad to hear all ends well.
