All sellers on eBay are being abused by PayPal as they keep our money for items we never shipped.
Why does eBay allow this to happen?
Why does this injustice receive such little attention?
We sellers are but sheep here, helpless as PayPal takes our hard earned from our accounts without our permission.
Am I the only one who sees this injustice?
another eBay order just cancelled...PayPal; please keep your hand out of my pocket...

There only way 2 avoid is 2 refuse 2 cancel a buyers request which I understand causes u even more problems then FVF lost thru cancelling a transaction.
it is as u stated very unfair and eBay provides sellers with little support. eBay has become even more greedy it seems
Stay safe and hang in there
Maybe the new company president can make some positive seller policy changes in the coming months

PayPal gave you the buyer's money when they processed their payment to you so they did what their fee was paid to do. They're entitled to keep it because they worked for it. It's a wonder they don't charge you another transaction fee when they had to transfer the money back to the buyer.

I agree with u 100% FVF should be refunded when transactions r canceled due 2 buyers request
ebay does refund the FVF on item price when a Cancellation is filed.
I believe the OP is referring to the 2.9% plus .30 transaction fee that Paypal charges.

...wait until you are forced to deal with Managed Payment, the new money processing program from eBay...at that time, you can bid farewell to PayPal and you will see which one better...

Yes you are correct. But fair has nothing to do with that. A business does what is best for the shareholders and unfortunately we pay for it. The eBay managed payments are not going to change anything if the payment goes through PayPal.

Didn't Pay Pal do what you paid them to do, process the payment.
As long as the do their job, shouldn't they get paid.
And, with refunds, they have to process it twice, so we're lucky they don't charge us twice.

Someone told me because of the Covid19 pandemic that pay pal will just keep the 30 cent transaction fee not the 2.9% fee. I had contacted them via twitter the other day and this was the message I received from them...
Hello there! Thank you for contacting PayPal. We are more than delighted to have you as a customer. When you issue a full refund via the transaction page, PayPal refunds you the 2.9 percent fee, but not the 30-cent fee. This works only if you issue the refund through the Transaction History page for the original transaction. On that page, you can select the "Issue Refund" option. Thanks. ^SP

pay pal did what they had to do and be glad they are there because when ebay forces this managed payment nonsense on you you will wish for pay pal to be back !! Good luck ps At least with pay pal you have your money when you want it not when ebay decides to give it to you with their mangled payments and you are waiting for it 7 to 10 days after your sale !!

The payments for managed payments are processed by Adyen a large processor used by many other businesses. They also process all seller payments on Etsy.

Get your label printed minutes after purchase. A good chance the buyer will not cancel If they see it.

Yes i just noticed the something also, but dealing with eBay is 1000% more better than being a seller on Amazon. I left eBay for awhile and went to Amazon and dealing with them... i cant even explain the frustration, items going missing with no way to be refunded, customers buying brand new items sending them back damaged or just buying them opening it and returning it and getting a full refund. And when sending in a box with 30 items in it to the warehouse and then they tell you nothing was in the box. Wow i used to think eBay was a monster but after Amazon, i can deal with the small things that come with eBay and not be fuming mad any more. And now i think there customer service is wonderful at least you can get somewhere with a rep with amazon there's no getting through its a brick wall of you bending over and just taking it. Not approving what paypal is doing is right but there are companies out there like amazon that will take full advantage of its sellers and customers for there gain. There's a reason Amazon is worth billions so fast and its not by playing fair.

It is PayPal that is abusing eBay sellers; I had a $400 order that was cancelled after 15 minutes, Paypal charges me... $12 how is this fair? I offer free return shipping so it would be silly to ship the item to a customer whom doesn't want it and would be very upset if I did.
