Buyer bought one of my items on Thursday as a local pick up, when I printed out the packing slip, their address indicates they're from Georgia... not local to me. I contacted them to "arrange" pick up but they haven't replied. I can only assume that they're thinking, trying to be slick, I would ship it to them without them having to pay the shipping charges, if they selected the local pick up option, thinking I wouldn't notice. 🤔
How do I go about canceling this transaction without it affecting me? The only option I can see is the option "issue with buyers address".

I would give it a couple more days, I once had a buyer drive from Colorado to Chicago for a pricey pick up only item, so you never know. If no response by then, you can always cancel with problem with buyer address, and it wont affect your account.

Yes to what bonjourami suggests. I have purchased items locally (choose local pickup) when i have been on vacation/traveling. I would suggest not sending them a hundred messages in panic and would keep the conversation polite and professional. Give it a couple of days. IMHO

This is exactly a "problem with buyer's address" and that's the reason you'd use to cancel.
But maybe wait a few more days to see if they reply to your message. No reply?
Then just cancel as suggested.
And since someone mentioned they think it's a scam attempt, have to disagree. This is more likely another of those people who does not read everything, just sees something they want and bids.

It seems to be a glitch at my end. I'm seeing more of it on my sales.
When I look at my shipping details, it shows the buyer being charged the shipping cost. I go ahead and purchase shipping label and ship.

How do I go about canceling this transaction without it affecting me? The only option I can see is the option "issue with buyers address". Correct.
It is the responsibility of the buyer to pick up the item they purchased. You should reach out to make arrangements. You are not obligated to return their item or cancel the transaction. If the buyer communicates with me, I work with them to arrange pick-up or cancel the transaction.
I always use eBay messaging and include deadline dates for the buyer (eBay does not consider communications outside of eBay when reviewing cases):
Option 1:
Dear buyer, it has been XX days and you have not responded to attempts to arrange pickup of your item. If I do not hear from you by ##/##/####, your transaction will be cancelled. (problem with address)
Option 2:
Dear buyer, it has been XX days and you have not responded to attempts to arrange pickup of your item. I cannot store your item indefinitely. After 30 days, on ##/##/#### your item will be considered abandoned and discarded (check local law for abandoned property).
