Was selling used range extenders for Xfinity internet. Purchased by a seller who could not connect them to his system. His system was a newer system, he discovered. They still work with systems only a few years old (like mine did) only a few months ago I was using them. Other sellers are selling them with no complaints to buyers who have systems which are compatible, Why should I lose out on eBay fees and shipping costs (which was free) because he did not do any research? Gives me negative feedback for selling "old technology." 24 years with eBay and no negative feedback, until now. Reported it, but doubt anything will be done. Unreal...

Everytime I get a return where the buyer did not understand exactly what he was buying, I take that information and update the listing so the next buyer won't make the same mistake. Put it in the 2nd line or paragraph of the description and highlight it. Add it to the Item Specifics under Compatible Brand and call out what it don't work with.
When processing the return, if you refund in full, eBay refunds the Final Value Fees. IF the guy files a Item Not As Described return case, you will be refunding.
There was nothing to report to eBay.
Your response made the feedback worse if a perspective buyer reads it. You could have easily turned it into a positive with a highly professional response.

Thanks. But it was so accusatory. Very upsetting. Did not even give a couple days to discuss...
