It's a scam. If you go ahead, you will get an email that's just a fake payment.

Scammers target new sellers and "high value" items (scammers like stuff they can easily resell).    Many different types of scams going around (this scam is a classic one).   If you get scammed there is no protection.

You should cancel this transaction immediately using reason "bad shipping address" (that way you won't get a "defect" on your account.   Add this person to your "blocked bidder" list.

Well if you really want your item sold, you can just buy the eBay gift card,  then charge him the price to the gift card. Or you can cancel order. Or, you can ask him to ship to his own address then he buys a gift card and drops it off at his cousins.  Whatever you do, I hope it works out for you!

You should not be offering advice here if you don't know what you're doing.

The OP needs to immediately end ALL interaction with the scammer.

This is a classic scam where you will lose your ps4 AND your payment as well if you let yourself fall victim to the scam. Scammers are almost always smarter and more devious than new sellers. So it's a good thing you came here before losing your ps4.

You said the buyer "tries" to buy the ps4. Sounds like he hasn't actually purchased it yet.

If he gets from you your email address and sends you an email saying it's been paid for and it's time to ship, it's a good bet the email is fake. If he hasn't actually bought it yet, and if payment does not legitimately show up in "awaiting shipment" at your My Ebay Orders section, report the buyer, add him to your blocked bidder list, and totally ignore him.

If you were to send it or send him a photo of it or give him the numbers, the eBay gift card is intended as a free gift at your expense and only for his use, not for his cousin.

Finally, read down a few hundred posts on this forum and on the shipping and returns forums, to get educated about the scams that a lot of new sellers fall victim to. And don't expect eBay to protect you from any of them.

Cheers, Duffy

Think about it, why would you include a $100 gift card with something someone bought! Your not selling gift cards. As a new seller, your ez prey!! They will also try to scam you out of your PS4. Try selling some items that aren't such scam magnets. I'd never sell a PS4 as a first item. Don't sell them ANYTHING!!

You were smart to come here and inquire!

If this was an attempt at humor, it failed. If you were serious, I have no words.
