Buyer and Seller reputations???

Hi,
I have 100% feedback as a buyer.

Now I decide to start selling something on eBay. Noticed that after I made an item for sale I saw that eBay use my account as a buyer, feedback 100% -

If some angry or crazy customer puts negative feedback on me, will it ruin my reputation as a buyer?
So, mine 100% feedback as the buyer will be affected?

Buyer and Seller reputations???

Your feedback percentage is based on ALL of the feedback that you have received in the past 12 months, both as a seller and as a buyer.

There is no need to "protect" your 100% as a buyer.  Buyers cannot receive negative or neutral feedback from sellers. So if your percentage is lower thn 100%, it must be from a neg that you got as a seller. It could not possibly be  a neg that you got as a buyer.

Buyer and Seller reputations???

All Buyers have a 100% positive feedback as sellers can not leave a negative feedback.

Buyers positive feedback is not an indication of their crazy or angry behaviour as this can never be reflected in their feedback score.

I as seller do not consider buyers feedback score.

I look at how long a member has been active on eBay and feedback they have left for others/ sellers as this reflects how a buyer deals with any issues that may have arisen.

If a buyer leaves a negative then this will be reflected in your %.

Buyer and Seller reputations???

Let me clarify things:
1.As a buyer i have 100% feedback
2.I decide to sell something.

I sell for 1st time. on Selling Item says  "593-100%" so mine buyer statistic, it not says "0-100%"
So, why this 593 is involved as a statistic and will be affected if the buyer leave neg feedback?
Why buyer and seller status are not separated ? or can you explain to me how it works.

Thanks

As previously stated a buyer feedback means absolutely nothing. The 593 is the transaction account.... The 100% means that 100% of your purchase activity has positive responses. The breakdown on your feedback page indicates which feedback is left by buyers and which feedback is left by sellers. It is impossible for a member to ride on the laurels of their buyer feedback history only, should they start selling, and receive a negative feedback.  And yes a negative feedback to you as a seller will dilute your positive feedback status, but it doesn't carry the clout (power) that it did five, six years ago. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

It depends on what YOU feel.  A great many people have separate accounts for each......  But you can always open another account for buying at any time, if you get into trouble as a seller.

Feedbacks belong to the member ID and within that it shows what feedback you leave for others and feedback you receive as a buyer and seller are shown separately.

Feedback count is for over all activities (Buying and selling).

I can see that at present all your feedbacks are as a buyer.

I would focus on making sure that all descriptions and photographs are accurate and that I provide exceptional customer service to my buyers and if a buyer leaves a negative feedback then I would revisit the transaction to see if I could have done anything different to give that buyer a positive experience.

Sellers have no effective means of blocking a buyer based on feedback. So no, a negative generally will not affect you repuation as a buyer.

And sellers who do "investigate" their buyers are generally looking at the feedback you have left for others, not the feedback you have received.

Generally speaking, having some feedback as a buyer will generally help a selling account look more establioshed, because most buyers won't even notice that your feedback is buying feedback and not selling feedback.

All that being said ...

There are good reasons for separating your buying and selling activity into different accounts. You mentioned angry or crazy buyers - there are also angry or crazy sellers. If you ever get into a dispute with a seller, that seller might buy something from you just to "prove a point".

IMHO if you are planning to sell regularly, I would start using this account for selling to get the benefit of that  500+ feedback rating, and start a NEW account to use for buying.

You are attaching importance to your buyer feedback as if it somehow bolsters your buying "reputation" - and quite honestly, there is no importance to it and a buyer's "reputation" is almost meaningless.

There is no "need" to open a separate seller account, although, that is what many eBay members do.  It is your option, your decision.
