I'm not proficient on the ebay system. A buyer stated the item was defective and through messaging requested a return. We corresponded and made arrangements to do so. My fault was I did not know how easy the process is on ebay including sending a shipping label. He opened a "ticket" to obtain same. If he had told me I could do all through ebay, i would have done so. I did do that the day refund was requested. My question is: does opening a ticket mean also a dispute and does it affect me negatively? I don't want to appear to be non caring or responsive. In fact, I am just the opposite. It is only the moral, ethical, and responsible thing to do to satisfy the other person however they want. Thank you.

A 'ticket' as you state- doesn't exist.
The buyer opened a 'return' for that item.
If they did, you open the 'return case' and respond accordingly.
Once the buyer returns the item and you receive it, you refund them.
