I sold an item, the buyer paid right away, and then asked that I not ship for a couple of weeks. She was going to be out of town and didn't want the package to get lost. When she returned she let me know and I shipped the item out. She received the item in about 3 days. Everyone was happy! Now eBay is hitting me with a slow shipping defect. What can I do? I submitted a review and received an automated response that clearly showed nobody even looked at the facts. What can I do?

A solution I've used is to change the shipping window on the item. This works if the request comes in before the buyer purchases. If the buyer purchases and then asks, I don't really worry about one late shipment defect - I work for the buyer, not eBay - I did have that happen once a while ago.

Contrary to an earlier post, dont hesitate to use the Ebay for Business message link on Facebook. They are professional, helpful, and accurate. And English speaking Americans, who actually understand what you are talking about.

Right? I don't understand how buyers have the chutzpah to think they can ask a seller to hold off on shipping for them. If I order from Macy's, Macy's ships the order when they ship the order. I can't ask them to wait because I'm going to be on vacation.

I think that post was referring to FB & I am in complete agreement. FB is notorious for huge security risks. That said, yes the Ebay for Business FB page seems to get people good results, but at the cost of using FB, which is always a risk & like the other poster, it's a risk I would never take. I've seen first hand, FB's data mining.

I don't mind because I consider myself a 'personal seller' and not a corporation like Macy's. Since my store is very small, I offer this personalised attention to try to increase the value of my admittedly tiny brand.
It's really better if the buyer takes care that their mail is held, or forwarded.
