Buyer Refunded by Ebay but failed to return item twice?

Buyer said item wasn't new and wanted a return, item was new but rather than farce on I agreed to refund when item was returned.

 

I arranged a courier for collection and provided him the shipping label through Ebay messages, collection was refused because apparently he didn't know I sent him the shipping label.

 

Ebay opened a case and I spoke with the buyer and we agreed for another collection today after 1pm, they arrived at 1:51pm but the item wasn't available for collection, but Ebay closed the case today and refunded the buyer this morning.

 

Is there anything I can do? I have a feeling I am not getting the £365 item returned..

I don't understand why you sent a label AND arranged for the pickup. The pickup should be arranged by the buyer who knows their own schedule.

But you might ask if the Undeliverable policy applies in this case.

Hi @westcoastcampers 

 

It seems like you modified eBay’s return policy.

 

When a buyer opens an official return request … the seller has 3 business days to provide a prepaid shipping label through the return request process.  [Sending a courier isn’t an option.  Nor is sending a shipping label via eBay messages.]

Once the buyer brings eBay into the process and receives a refund … they are told that they don’t have to return the item.

 

You can continue communicating with the buyer to see if they will agree to hand over the item to a courier … but there’s no way to force them to do that.  I’m very sorry.

You should have uploaded the return shipping label to the return case and not send it through a message.

You "sent a courier"? 

 

You needed to accept the return request through Ebay and if the buyer never sent it back, then the return would have closed in your favor

eBay doesn't require that sellers send an ebay label but it  probably should have been sent through messages within the return rather than a regular ebay message.  It's possible that you will be able to appeal this since you can show that you sent a label.
