What is going on @ e-bay? In the past 4 months I have had 3 disputes filed on me "Buyer Doesn't Recognize Charge". Apparently you can buy an item , receive it and then go to you payment institution and file a claim of
not recognizing charge and get your money back. I lost one, the buyer got a full refund and I never got my item back. I won the second their lending institution denied the claim, they got the item the day they filed the dispute. I got one today after I shipped the item this morning. I don't know if they will get their money back or not, but they will receive the item on Friday. I track everything I sell for this reason. We as sellers are usually protected under e-bay's policies, but it still makes for bad business. It makes it easy to scam and not only get and keep the item but they get a full refund if successful. Very Frustrating!

Its total **bleep**. eBay is making their problems with buyers our problems , I sold a $1200 , 1980's bmx bike, a couple day after delivery I get a message saying they are holding my funds till the dispute this clown tried to pull is resolved.
Luckily he never contacted me or eBay, just went straight to the financial institution and tried to do a chargeback, I had to send all the tracking and pictures blah blah blah.
I was **bleep** to say the least. I been selling since 07', and was ready to close my store if they ruled in his favor.
The didn't, but this whole process took almost 3 months. I switched my bank, stopped listing new stuff, ended a bunch of stuff. Hell I even started listing on Mercari again, and almost set up shop on Amazon
The financial hit was bad because as everyone knows the glory days of Covid sales are long gone, I'm preparing to move across country and it just totally set me back, although I did find out FB Marketplace can be a great place to sell stuff !!
Bottom line though, chargebacks should be billion dollar eBays problems, not ours!!

Did you send the item by a shipping method that showed delivery to the address in the transaction details, or at the very least the ZIP code? Was the sale expensive enough to warrant signature confirmation? Sorry for the third degree, but something isn’t adding up here.

When a buyer files a complaint with their credit card company it IS your problem.

Many people seem to forget or ignore the fact that chargebacks happen at other marketplaces too.
