Re: Build impression

Hello. Here is a link that discusses how to increase one's impressions on eBay, to answer your question.

https://www.thebalancesmb.com/how-to-use-ebay-s-search-visibility-analysis-tool-1140576

While improving one's impressions is important, and looking for some tips of the trade, I believe it may be more important to focus one's attention on putting together solid listings first, before branching out into data analysis of one's eBay marketing tools. Having good titles, descriptions, Item Specifics, and the like are critical to eBay success. All else will come with time and experience. Without having adequate listing information, it will be much much harder to get impressions. Some study of how to put together a successful listing is in order.

I took a look at your listings, and had a few notes.

Your titles need some work. First, make sure each word in your title is a correct description of the item. Take for example, your table runner title: "Table Runner Yellow Lemon Party Table Cloth Cover Placemats kitchen Decor Home". A table runner is not a placemat, so I would omit that word. The word "Party" does not describe the runner. You could perhaps use it at a party, but that does not describe the runner's primary function which is decoration. The word "Table" does not need to be in the title twice. Once is enough. I would recommend something like "Lemon Yellow Table Runner Cloth Kitchen Home Decor 14"x72" (or whatever size it is). I did not see the size listed anywhere, which is not good. The size, color, material etc are important facts that need to be in the listing. And since you are listing this on the USA site, convert your metric sizes to Imperial measurements. The USA does not use the metric system.

Right now, you do not have a traditional description field filled out in your listings. While some basic info is there, instead of having paragraphs, you have columns of info that were difficult for me to understand. It would be better in my view to write up sentences describing your item in a conversational way. Study successful sellers' listings to get an idea of how to do this. I strongly suggest you remove the photographs out of the description field. Pictures have a place in the listing already. It is not necessary to put them in the description and it interferes with Search Engine Optimization and creates difficulty when viewing your listings on a small mobile screen. The description is for text, as simple as possible--left justified, one style of easy-to-read font, in one color: black. I use a 14 point Verdana in my listings.

There is more tweaking that needs to be done in your listings. I have included some links below with more information on how to list on eBay. I hope you will take the time to review it. They will help with your selling.

Good luck and wish you well.

@chathalwi

There are a lot of good things to do when begining to sell here. This isn't everything by no means. Other sellers will add to your post.

 Here are a few:

- Provide good customer service. Treat buyers how you want to be treated!

- Do research to see what others maybe are selling the same items for.

- Post clear nice pictures, you get up to 12 free. Pictures can show the item's condition better. Don't use anyone else’s pictures.

- Write a good title and description. Be sure to note any flaws. The more detailed your description the less chance of a buyer filing a not as described case. I even show pictures of the flaws.

- Fill in the detail section as much as possible.

- Make sure that your shipping price listed is accurate. You cannot ask the buyer for more money after the sale, if you get it wrong.

- Never sell outside of eBay, for your protection.

- Don't ever agree to send to another address other than the buyers registered address.

- Answer your messages from buyers as soon as possible.

- Look out for scams. Suggest reading eBay's section on scams.

- Always provide and upload tracking.

- Charge reasonable shipping rates.

- Double check your spelling and grammar.

- Be sure to read eBays selling policies.

- Read eBay's start selling overview; it has some very helpful articles.

https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/selling/start-selling-ebay?id=4081&st=12&pos=6&query=Start%20selli....

- Be familiar with eBay’s prohibited to sell items.

https://www.ebay.com/help/policies/prohibited-restricted-items/prohibited-restricted-items?id=4207&s....

As a new seller you will have selling limits. eBay does this to make sure that you show that you are a good seller and show a good track record.

https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/listings/selling-limits?id=4107&st=12&pos=2&query=Selling%20limits....

You will also have to know what trademark items you can't sell. If you list an item that is on the prohibited list, VERO (Verified Rights Owner Program) will get your auction listing closed.

Again, this isn't everything. This is only the tip of the iceberg. There are a lot of great folks here that will add to what I started. It is good to hear what everyone has to add.

Hope this helps! Good Luck!

Re: Build impression

I have one thing to add to the good advice you have already received.

If that Table Runner sells with one bid at $0.10 ... you WILL have to ship the item for that price.

Canceling orders because you didn't like the end price is a very bad thing to do.  And it can cause you to get defects on your Seller Standards.

On common items, use Fixed Price.  Buyers do not want to bid on common items. Use Auctions for items that are actually rare or unique. And if you do run auctions, your starting bid price should be (at least) the minimum amount that you need to get for that item to make a profit.

Re: Build impression

Yes you are right. What I bid on, whether a profit or a loss, I rush to send it to the winner. Because I value my customers a lot.
