Nothing went wrong as it was just a fad from 20 years ago. People no longer want broken, worn out, refurbished items, store returns, grandma's dishes, items that can be found at any thrift store, car parts that can be purchased from any auto parts store, items that can be purchased at Walmart for half the price etc. Shoppers got smarter and there is much more competition. In todays market if you do not have the best items, and at the best prices you are out of luck.

I make a living selling "grandma's dishes" LOL
What buyers don't want is the whole 100 piece service for 12 ... They do want singles and pairs to replace or add to what they already have 🙂
Buyers are still buying antiques and collectibles (and china and crystal) ... They are just much more discerning about what they buy. There really isn't much that is so "rare" that buyers will pay a premium price for a scratch-n-dent version of it.
And some sellers need to understand that "old" does not mean valuable. Vintage 70's and 80's plastic junk from China is still mass manufactured junk from China.
