Does eBay have anything resembling a Brand Registry or some way to have a brand included on the list of brands that can be used to filter search results within a category?
Our company manufactures several brands of car care products. We are the rights holder/registered owner of the brand, manufacture the products, have UPC codes and all legal documentation that might be required.
I contacted CS to ask if there was a way to register a brand to have it listed either in the "shop by brand" header on the category page or at least in the list of available Brands on the left side navigation if you click "see all". CS referred me to the VeRO Program, but after emailing with that department it was clear that is only intended for reporting infringement of intellectual property, so that was a dead end. I didn't want to report anyone, I was just trying to find a way to register our brands in the eBay system, similar to what we can do on other marketplaces.
I thought the new catalog program would help with this issue, but it doesn't seem to apply to our category yet or if it does, I can't figure how to use it. I've looked at the Help pages regarding creating new products in the eBay catalog, but the steps they say to take do not show as available options when I am creating a new listing.
Any suggestions or do we just need to wait until we have access to submit our products to the eBay catalog?
