Is there any way to speak to a real person at eBay? They removed a book of mine saying it violated their policies, but books with the same content are still up and listed, even in the exact same condition. They have apparently made a mistake, but is there any way to get them to fix it?

More terrible advice from CS. Don't be surprised if things REALLY go south on you.

‘Mein Kampf’ probably tops the list of Nazi propaganda that is banned on eBay.
Sellers get only a few shots of items being removed before they are permanently banned from selling on eBay. If your new listing is removed … I hope you will believe that we know what we’re talking about.
BTW, eBay defines ‘Pre-war’ as before 1933.

I relisted since the eBay rep said I could and opened up the previous listing to be relisted. You were right, they took it down again. This time saying it violated their code. The strange thing is, according to eBay's recently sold, over 100 copies have recently sold of Mein Kampf, and many other listing are still up for sale ...some having been listed as long ago as 9 months. I certainly feel singled out that I got ditched twice in the same weekend while so many others are still up for sale on eBay. When I confronted them with this, they gave a lame excuse. It does not appear that they care a great deal about these others copies up for sale or that they've been promoting the sale of this book.
I think the book has some research and historical relevance and has annotations pointing out the errors in his thinking, but I didn't even argue the idea of banning books.

It didn't do any good. They took my listing down again, even though many others that have been up for 9 months are still listed and the book is still being sold by others. I certainly feel singled out and that their effort to ban certain materials is half-hearted.

You were right. They took it down again, even though so many other copies are still up for sale, and have been for months. Over 100 have sold recently on eBay. I can't figure out why they are harassing my sale while doing nothing about the others even when I tell them about it. Wondering if I should start selling on Abebooks.

In your listing, did you indicate that your copy was not for sale in Austria, France, Germany & Italy?
Your shipping instructions will show to which countries you will ship. If you have not excluded those four European countries, the eBay bots will detect it, and delete it.
Other sellers may have added those exclusions to their selling instructions, and that may be one of the reasons that their listings have not been touched.
It's probably too late now for your listing, however, since eBay has taken it down twice. If you try again, you may be banned from eBay -- so don't do it.

You on radar for the item: not mater what some CS rep tells you:
do not relist it on eBay.
As for others if you desire report em...
Never go by what is listed to think you can list something. Know the rule and regs... Even then you can get some pulled.

I don't do international shipping, so probably that wasn't it. I don't mind the book being taken down, but when they leave so many up that are selling, including copies that have been up for 9 months, it seems like they are not treating all sellers equally.

Unfortunately, eBay has no list of banned items, so the only way to know if they allow something is to see if they have sold in the past. Whether something is hate speech or a critique of hate speech, I am not qualified to judge. I just wish they would apply their policy equally. When I tell them about the other listings, they do nothing which is discriminatory. Definitely considering other avenues to sell any and all of my books.

You don't OFFER International shipping
BUT
You do not actually block non-US locations
You need to go into your account settings and tick the appropriate box:
https://www.ebay.com/ship/prf/excludeRegions
You need to actively exclude all countries except the US, if you don't your listings will show up on all eBay sites, buyer will be able to view and purchase but because you don't have shipping set up for those location they will not be able to pay.
Most important in your situation is that you MUST actively block Europe and really if you only want to ship within the US block every other country.
This is why eBay is pulling your listing, the way you have it currently set up a buyer in Germany CAN see your listing and that would be a violation of German laws.

Please stop posting the same response over and over again. This is a public forum, and everyone can see all the posts on this this thread, so it's very disruptive to post the same thing multiple times. You don't have to reply to each and every post individually, and that is a waste of (everyone's) time.
Your listing violated policy and it was probably reported. What other sellers got away with is not relevant. That's like complaining to the cop who stopped you for speeding, and didn't stop the other 3 or 4 drivers who were also speeding at the same time. The cop could only stop one car at a time, and he stopped you this time. That's life, and life is not fair, so stop complaining about it. This time, it's your turn to pay the fine.

That was rude.

Per the User Agreement, eBay can remove any listing they want at any time, whether there is a policy violation or not.

I'm very sorry that you find the truth to be rude. I'm sorry that you find a response that was carefully thought out and tailored for you, personally to be rude.
I'm especially sorry that I wasted my time trying to help you.
It's a real shame that you are not willing to be helped.

We're trying to get you to STOP thinking about what other people are selling. If it means getting rude , then maybe it will make you pay more attention. Take to heart the fact that if you list it again, you stand a very good chance of being permanently banned from eBay. Forget about the book.
