Handling times messing up my seller level

So I've been selling on here for quite some time and have had many of the same BIN/FP listings running for years...some with thousands of sales.  I randomly decided to check my performance metrics today and noticed that "If we evaluated you today, your seller level would be Above Standard" instead of the Top Rated that I have been for years.

All of my listings are set to 1 day handling times and this has always meant next business day. So if a product sells on Friday, it doesn't have to be shipped until Monday.  This has always been my understanding and how we have operated even though we often ship on Saturdays anyway.  So in looking at my metrics, eBay has suddenly flagged me on multiple dates over the last couple of months where purchases were made on a Friday and we uploaded tracking on Sunday or Monday but they are flagging it as tracking uploaded late.

Have the handling times changed to where Saturday is now considered a business day?  Anyone else experiencing this?

As I understand it, Ebay considers Monday-Friday work days, save postal holidays.

The question more to ask is not "uploading tracking" but "acceptance scan".

Handling time | Seller Center (ebay.com)

Handling time is the number of business days between when you receive payment for an item and when your package is scanned by your shipping carrier.

Frankly, you aren't meeting  your handling times for this reason.  You need to get your packages to the carrier within that one business day in enough time that they can do the acceptance scan on them.

It depends on your settings - you can delist Saturday as a work day.

That is not what I am being flagged for.  I am being flagged for tracking "uploaded late."  You can see the same under your seller metrics.  Handling time consists of both upload times and shipped on time.

Is this new?  This has not been the case for years.  eBay has never considered Saturday a business day.  Where/how do you change it if this is a new setting?

I did just find something that says saturday "same day" cutoff times.  I don't offer same day.  Nonetheless, is this new?   I have sold for many years on here and NEVER shipped on saturday unless we just happen to be around the house doing nothing.  Suddenly, all my shipments are tagged as late uploads since the beginning of february, but not tagged as late shipments.

I found the following on ebay's help pages.  It says if an item is sold on Friday, saturday, or sunday, it needs tracking added by monday.   However, I do see the option in my shipping preferences to uncheck Saturday.  What gives?

Handling and dispatch time

Handling or dispatch time is the time between the buyer's payment clearing and you handing the item to your shipping provider.

Buyers want their purchases to arrive quickly so we recommend setting a dispatch time of no more than 2 days. Shorter dispatch times are always better if you can reliably meet them.

If you offer 1-day handling, remember the time frame isn't based on 24 hours: it's the end of the next business day. For example, if a buyer pays for your item on Monday, it needs to be scanned by Tuesday, 11:59pm.

If an item is bought on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, it needs to have tracking added by Monday, 11:59pm.

So I've been wondering why so many people start their post with so.

They think it makes their statements look more logical?

I think the 'Tracking uploaded late' is the stinger... not the Acceptance scan. Start to purchase your labels on Friday/Saturday. You can even set them (for mailing) a day or two out, if you choose. That metric is for tracking only.

You’ll also be able to set the days with the edit link.
