I'm getting a ton of fraud buyers, who at the last minute, win an auction, then never pay. I've adjusted settings to block buyers with 2 or more unpaid items, but it's not stopping them.

I'd love to set up a block accounts that had zero reviews and were less than a month old. Or have eBay actually block the IP addresses, I doubt these morons are doing anything other than using different email accounts.

It is ruining the auction process for sellers and buyers.

So, essentially, you would like to be able to block ALL new buyers.

Using your plan, how could a new buyer ever establish himself?

Let's say that, from the very beginning, sellers could block ALL new buyers.

Where do you figure eBay would be by this time?

eBay will never allow sellers to block the new buyers eBay has been trying so very hard to attract.

Why not take a break from auctions … which are favored by newbies who may not realize that payment is necessary … and try Fixed Price listings with Immediate Payment Required? Your listings will remain active until someone actually pays for the item.

There is no preemptive block for new accounts; the block you are referring to only applies to multiple purchases made within ten days. You can prevent users with five or fewer feedback ratings from buying two or more of your items, but they can still purchase the first one without running into the block.

eBay would never allow all new users to be blocked.

To avoid nonpayment, list your item for a fixed price with immediate payment required and do not accept or make offers. Then the buyer must complete payment to end the listing.

There is no block available for new accounts.

There are a number of ways a seller can reduce or avoid nonpaying customers. Perhaps you've already relied on a couple of them, but here's a list of approaches you can utilize:

List all items as fixed-price, immediate payment required. Do not list with the auction format. Only 20% of eBay listings are auction format. They're not all that popular with buyers anymore and come with these kinds of headaches for sellers.
For now, remove the "best offer" option from your listings or decline each offer manually--no matter how tempting it appears.*
Make sure to use the new cancellation process for members who don't pay within four full days (cancel on day five). A strike for nonpayment will be recorded on their account. The cancellation process can be done manually or you can set it to cancel for you automatically.
Set your Buyer Requirements to block any member with two or more strikes in the last twelve months--the most restrictive setting.
Add the member id to your Blocked Buyer List.

Utilizing these tools will help eliminate unpaid transactions.

*eBay is rolling out a process that requires immediate payment on offers, as announced in the 2022 Winter Seller Update and the 2022 Spring Seller Update. It's in your best interest as a seller to keep abreast of these Seller Updates.

someone else had the same problem in another thread, it was suggested to them no autions buy it now only, with immediate payment required. That will stop the non payers, but not the scammers. Also be sure to put any non paying bidders in your block box.

I do add them to the block list, of course. But moving to a Buy it Now eliminates the market fluctuations. Some items I need to sell at market value, and I want to move as fast as possible. Eliminating Auction isn't feasible for many items.

I'd like the option, as a Seller, to not trust brand new, zero rated accounts, yes. Not all sellers would turn this on, you know that.

As stated in the original post, I know all this. The post was a request, as a Seller, to have an option to block them. Let other sellers deal with brand new accounts. I'm fed up with it.

As stated in many responses; Never gonna happen.

You can't block 'newbies'.

The only blocks are the ones you know to set up in preferences; or each one as they come once you know their eBay name.

The other fix you don't want to do but your thinking is flawed. There isn't an item on the planet that you can't 'find a price' for that you can't put as a Buy It Now with IPR.

Many 'legit' buyers don't want to play 'auction games'. I'm one of them. I want, I find, I buy. Got an auction? Good for you; I'm just clicking 'BIN' at the top and all auctions are now gone. I don't have time to play games.

I understand what you are saying about the fluctuating market. My boyfriend sells action fugures, he runs buy it now listings, priced on the high side and allows offers so he can judge the market value.

If they don't pay, what good does it do to sell them?

I've been using immediate payment required since 2012 and not 1 nonpayer since.

It isn't "brand new accounts" that are the problem. It's nonpaying members--and they come in all shapes and sizes and feedback scores. In order to avoid nonpaying members, no matter how many feedback comments they've received, stop listing auctions. Use the fixed-price, immediate payment required, listing option. Problem solved.

eBay is a buyer-centric platform. It's a website where people come to buy things. It would be contrary to the concept of an online retailer to block certain customers from making purchases.

As other posters have stated, eBay is never going to allow sellers to block no- or low-feedback members. Nonpaying transactions are the price that is going to be paid when insisting on listing in the auction format.
