Vogue Top Knot Baby Dear Doll # 295792252154
It's been several years since I sold on ebay. I am a senior who gets confused easy and I need help figuring out the bids and retractions. I have had several bids and offers on my doll. My highest bid so far has been for $1,800.00. I accepted the offer but nothing happened then it said, they retracted their bid. I have had several offers and several bids and several retractions and people are still trying to bid on the doll.. I know there is a page somewhere letting me know they retracted on their bid, but I can't find it and when I try to reply it says the offer was retracted. I don't know how to deal with the issue. I don't want them to think I'm not replying back to them. Help!!!!

eBay will send an email to you if a bidder has retracted a bid on your item. Check your emails on your computer...not eBay. You can also block any bidders in the future.
A bidder can do a retraction I believe 12 hours before your auction is up.
The item with 36 bids...if bidder "506" retracts bids then bidder "55"...then highest bid will be $81.+...as an example. It is possible for someone having more than one eBay account.
You can block any bidder from future bids at your discretion...as a last resort. You don't have to cancel any bids...just block them from future bids.
You can click on "bids" of your item and at the bottom of page it will show "retractions".
I would change "seller does not take returns" to "seller takes returns...buyer pays for returns"...in the future...just my own opinion.
This is real important: Item description from the seller(you)...I would take out "80 years old and a senior"....some buyers will take advantage of this. I would not disclose anything about myself. Take it out in my opinion.
In your description state the facts about the item...not you.
And I would only sell this domestically...no freight forwarding. It might be too complicated to solve for you.
Good luck and feel free to ask more questions...there are a lot of great moderators here with experience.

Senior or not, my advice would be for you to have one of your children help you figure this out. Absolutely, read the responses, I am sure you will get plenty of good advice. But, best to have someone help you with the listing and with the shipping.

You set that listing up as an auction with best offer ... but offers are not the same as bids. And offers can only be made until the bidding starts.
You did get a whole lot of offers on that (before the biding started). It looks like 4 offers were retracted, and the ones that were still remaining were canceled automatically when the first bid was placed. Now the rest of the listing proceeds as a regular auction.
Most likely, some of the people who made offers will now participate in the bidding, so you have to wait until the listing ends (in a bit more than 6 days), and see who ends up with the highest bid. You don't need to do anything else at this point. You don't need to reply to anyone who sent offers ... if you get questions from the listing now, you can answer them.
Here's the list of offers ... all the ones that say "declined" it's because the best offers get declined/canceled automatically when the bidding starts (when the first bid is placed).

The buyers retracted Bids m they didn't want to pay for Item.
Some Bid for fun , some change their minds .....
It's better to use BIN with price Doll worth it with no Offers , at least you deal with one buyer.
If buyer doesn't pay ebay will Refund your fees and you can list it again until some serious buyer buy Doll.
In this situation you can't do anything , just wait until someone buy and pay for Doll.
Since you sold one Item on ebay several years pass and many things had change on ebay.
As I'm selling in Doll section for over 15 years there are some advices for you.
There are many people waiting for some un experienced OR New Seller with high price Item to SCAM it. You have to protect yourself first .
Once you sold your Doll .
Before you ship your Item please check:
Buyer's Feedbacks ( If is not safe to send Item contact ebay before you ship , you can lost shipping money OR Doll)
Use Shipping Company who offers full Insurance with Signature Required
Save Receipt for next 90 days from day Item shipped ( In case of damages )
Even after all there is still risk .
The buyer can said the Items is not as Described , then you have to pay for Return Shipping , IF you can't then ebay give your Doll for free to your buyer .
The buyer can be Collector Honest Person who wants Doll .
The buyer can be Liar who wants your Doll to damage OR get cheaper , even for free if you don't know how to hold Return on ebay .
Hope will help .
Happy Canada Day !

Thanks so much for your help. I was trying to call ebay to get some help because it was so confusing to me. I would accept returns with the buyer paying the fee to return it. I didn't request that option for no returns. That wouldn't be a problem at all. The reason I put my age and me being a senior was, ebay says to list why you are selling your item and that was the reason, but I won't add that in anymore. Again, thank you.

You appear to be a very successful seller, so it's probably not my place to ask this, but, just out of curiosity, why do you show pictures of dolls who are wearing clothing, and then state in the title "Nude Only"? Have you never had any complaints from buyers about that?

There is BIG differences between used and New Item.
Showing pictures of NRFB Dolls is proof that Doll is New , like many other Seller doing.
It's clearly stated in Listing that Auction is for NUDE Doll ONLY , in description to .
The experienced Collectors read description , the New one asks .
No complains .

":hanks so much for your help. I was trying to call ebay to get some help because it was so confusing to me. I would accept returns with the buyer paying the fee to return it."
Just be aware if the buyer files a not as described case, you, as the seller, are responsible for return shipping.

Thanks for the explanation. Did not see that the dolls who were dressed were still contained in boxes.

IF the price is $750.oo or higher , make sure that you ship using SIGNATURE CONFIRMATION. This is about 3-4 dollars and YOU pay for it. This is the only way that you do not lose your seller protection. If you print online and forget to do it. Void the label and reprint and make sure that you click SIGNATURE CONFIRMATION. If you do not know how to do it, take the box to the post office. RIGHT on a corner ADD SIGNATURE CONFIRMATION incase you think that you might forget. The clerks will not ask you if you want it. Goodluck.

I would simplify things a bit. If you are going to use the auction format, which seems to be working well for you and what you are selling, I would quit using best offer it just muddies the water. Simply go with the auction format and set your starting price at the lowest you are willing to accept based on research you have done on the market value.
I use the auction format almost exclusively and I often see bid retractions and I get the occasional non-payer but it's just part of the process with auctions.

That item doesn't show any bid retractions. It shows (at this time) one bid and the bidding is at $265.

Where are you seeing the purchase history? (Boy, I'm feeling kind of dumb!)

Don't feel bad. I have that URL bookmarked ... you just change the item number to match the listing that you want to get the purchase history for.
Purchase history and Terapeak are two of the most useful bookmarks, I have found.
