So, I sent an item, tracking shows it was delivered, and a month later the buyer opens a claim stating he never received the item, then eBay puts a hold on my funds! WTH???? eBay seems to be on the buyers side NOT ours. Pathetic and unfair!

input into the case that the buyer opened the tracking number that shows delivery.  It will close in your favor.

Ebay is never on the side of the seller. Look what they have screwed up with classic view listings. old worked fine. They don't understand that without sellers NO EBAY

It's a temporary hold for ebay to verify delivery.  I am hoping they work through this, as it is a complaint of mine also.

You will get your money released.  As the other poster stated, put the tracking into the Item not received case.  Ebay will close it in your favor and release your funds.

They really need to get a handle on these holds.

That sale was a month ago- seller already has the funds, likely several weeks ago.

Why not allow the seller to respond to the case with tracking  (which BTW is already IN the system) before they hold funds..

It seems a bit over the top to me..

If no tracking within 48 hours THEN attach funds until resolution..

Agreed.  Even 24 hours would be ok.

Honestly it wouldn't even be so bad if they would close it right away and release the funds when you put in your tracking but, it's usually couple days before they close it unless you contact them.  Which is a pain in it's own right.

The purpose of the hold is to minimize losses in the rare cases where a seller closes his bank account and "skips town" without having to refund.

Your proposal would be to give these sellers 48 hours' advance notice before their funds are held? That seems a little counter-productive.
