Just had a buyer () snipe one of my auctions last night on a Nintendo Switch bundle I listed on a 5 day auction. Seemed like a good buyer, had 100% positive feedback but immediately after he won, he requested to cancel within the same exact minute. Seems like a huge waste of time and potential profit lost, now I've re-listed the item as a fixed price auction for less than it sold for and am getting far less traffic. I went to report him only to find out there's no option for such thing and in order to not waste any time and be able to re-list the item, followed through with this cancellation request.
What can we do about buyers like this other than block them? Don't UPI strikes barely do anything? Additionally they're a waste of time for users like myself who are trying to quickly move inventory. Better question, is it even worth listing auctions anymore since buyers seem to have so much swing with little to no penalty?

Most buyers who have been around long enough do not accept second chance offers. It looks too suspicious on their end thinking the seller placed their own bid to get more $$.

i had the same thing happen. so i blocked buyer and relisted. 3 minutes before the relist ended, same buyer asked to be unblocked. i said no. he opened a new account that fast and put in a snipe bid under a new account and won. waited 4 days, did the no pay thing BUT i called ebay and explained the whole thing. the person is gone from ebay now for good. they did investigate and throw them off

You've gotta be kidding me, it happened again on a 1-day listing! This time the buyer actually threw down a bid within 40 seconds of it ending. Not even sure what to do at this point other than avoid auctions entirely.

I feel your pain. I've had the same problem recently. So much for bids being a contract to buy. If you refuse to cancel, then you can't report them as non-payment. Just had one that bid four times over several days, then said they bid by accident. I block them from bidding on anything again, but my time was still wasted. It seems E-Bay does not put near the value in seller's fair treatment and they do buyers.

If you don't answer E-bay accepts the cancelation. If you refuse the cancellation, they just don't pay and you can't file and unpaid item case. You are stuck accepting the cancellation and your time and value as a seller is not important. It really seems like sellers always get the dirty end of the stick.
