Bid retractors - Are we allowed to not sell to them or is that against Ebays poilicy?

Just had my first bid retractor pull some stupid crap in one of my auctions! I have his username and I'd like to ban him from any future bidding and purchases. Is there a way to do that? Am I allowed to cancel his bids or cancel the auction if he wins just because I don't want to support that kind of stuff?

I don't want my bidders thinking I'm doing some kind of shill bidding scam! I can see my reputation and feedback is going to mean EVERYTHING on ebay! Please give me some advice on how to deal with these clowns! Thank you!

Actions just are not worth the hassle. There is always going to be people who bid up to see the highest bid and then retract. It will go against them and in your block bidders section you can make the settings strict for avoiding non payers and bid retractors, how ever, unless for some special items just figure what the least is you will accept for an item and make a buy it now listing, maybe a best offer option. Either way it is just easy and running auctions are a big headache I think. Good luck.

You should probably add IPR (Immediate Payment Required) on your buy-it-now listings to prevent non-payers.

Re: Bid retractors - Are we allowed to not sell to them or is that against Ebays poilicy?

you can certainly block a bid retractor

they mess up auctions and bidders lose trust in auctions because of canceled bids

bidders can click on number of bids and see that there are retracted canceled bids and they dont like it at all

block these unwelcome bidders and let them know they are unwelcome  if you have to cancel other bids by them

bidders that do this frequently are involved with bid shielding
