I recently noticed when I look at any item that I am selling, the place bid button is live? At the top instead of saying "your item is for sale" like it used to, it says "this item is active" ? Why would it give me an option to place a bid on my own item?
Also on delivery dates on my items it states "delivery estimate to" my own zip code??
Am I missing something?

Been lots of re programming on Ebay that's been sort of wacky in the last week. People were being charged for gallery fees and never used it, sellers couldn't see their own ID or feedback, it goes on. Probably another glitch.
Happy Selling.

I’ve always seen delivery date to my own zip code when I look at my own item. I also see the same when looking at other sellers listing. It could have something to do with IP location tracking.
Im sure one of the more tech savvy responders know more.

It works that way for me too. Of course, you cannot bid on your own item. It's prohibited by the rules for good reason. Sellers should not be running up the prices in auctions.
I accidentally tried to bid on one of my own items and the system wouldn't let me. I suspect eBay shows you the active "Place Bid" button because then you can see the listing exactly as it looks to a buyer.

Yes, you are missing something. Anyone who searchers your item will see the delivery date to their "own" location. Also yes, it will say you can bid (totally against Ebay rules if you do). Don't worry about that as it is completely a non-issue. Just don't bid is all.
