This buyer purchased a brand new unworn wig from me. She contacted me at least three times getting the price down, telling me she was exhausting her savings. Then she paid with a card and it bounced, then she said it was because there was fraud on her card. Then she asked if I could hold the wig until her husband could help her pay for it. I lowered price three times for her. I told her all about the wig and explained very clearly that there is a no return policy. I did this because I sensed she was a problem, that feeling we all develop as sellers is always right. Sure enough…..I get this rude wild message in the middle of the night “ Your wig stinks”. How rude people are when you are going out of your way to be nice, it’s unreal.
No I have sold many many of these wigs and they don’t stink, what a liar. She has had it a long time , hasn’t returned, probably going to wear it right up into the last day. Stupid liar saying when I took photos my house perfume got on it. What the h** , you have to take things out of the box. But wait, no amount of logic matters because she has cancer. She also has a hefty income per an internet search. But my husband had cancer and we wouldn’t act like this using it to scam. I will never resell it after her germs are on it, so thanks EBay for the loss.

The moderators clearly edited the original post at some point, you can see that in the top right corner of the post itself. Maybe OP did as well, but I don't think they're likely to have done so, personally.

Whoops, you are correct. I missed that a moderator's name was on the edit note. My bad!!!

Getting a negative can be very upsetting. It is why you should never reply immediately. Sleep on it. Come here for help with crafting a response. As we say here, when a buyer sends you a message saying they are upset with an item, simply ask them to return it for a full refund.
Who knows where the smell got in? Could be in the mail truck. Or during shipping. Or maybe the wig came with a "normal" smell that she did not like. Yes, you would lose money if it is returned but it is the cost of doing business. A few buyers reading your response to her negative will quickly hit the back button.

@mam98031 wrote:IDK, they also edited their OP too. I think it was the OP. None of us that mentioned Cancer had our posts edited. I don't think it is a word that the moderators would edit.
I don’t know for sure what the moderator edited … but a moderator did edit the post 4.5 hours after it posted.
I didn’t think that it was the word ‘cancer’ that was the problem … but, rather, it was the ‘beware of cancer buyers’ statement that was insensitive to say the least.
[At first, the title was edited only in the thread. The word ‘cancer’ was still in the title when one looked at the LIST of titles on the Board.
Eventually, it was removed from there as well. The OP would NOT have been able to remove a word from outside the thread.]

i get scammed 4-5 times every week, when u sell 10 items and get scammed for one, the one u got scammed eat profit of other selling items. i sell on ebay to make money but not to loose money. scam is so much common on ebay and return policy of ebay has so many flaws, i don't want to address here all the flaws here so any scammer who is reading this thread might abuse it and i reported to ebay many times about those flaws , ebay never fix it. so many loop holes. i sold 75k items that means when i am saying something about scam, i have weight in my words and i have deep understanding about ebay, how its work and how loop holes protect scammers.
