I am finding selling slow at the moment so sent a few offers out to watchers. What I find really irritating is when a buyer counter offers after I have said that it is the lowest I can go, in this instance e.g. I offered £10 with note attached this is my lowest offer. Straight away they come back with £9.50… it’s annoying and had this happen yesterday too with 20p difference! Do other sellers give in and accept or ignore? Is it a kind of one up manship from the buyer? Thoughts please

Make sure the "allow counteroffers" box is unchecked on the send offer screen.

This is good news!

We send a firm prices. When they counter, we send them the firm price again.

If they counter again, we BLOCK.

This is an excellent way to recognize potentially problem buyers.

@emhomebodystuff I believe when a buyer counters with such an insignificant change, it is simply a game to them. When I make an offer as a buyer, if the seller counters I always accept as I feel this is the seller's final price. Some folks enjoy playing "the game". You have no obligation to accept or even to respond. Once you've countered with your bottom offer just let it go. Someone else will purchase for the amount you desire. Best of luck to you....

Yes thanks for reply, it’s difficult enough when the fees are high and postage costs  to make money but buyers sometimes will take the P!
I haven’t got the patience for silly games…

My feelings, I wouldn't take it personally. I have no problem finding good deals out there to buy.

I have sent offers to sellers who rejected me within minutes only to see the item lingering on eBay for months on end. Some for years!

I would never block someone for making an offer, not even a low one. Well, maybe if I listed it at 100 and they offered 10. No, I wouldn't even block them, I'd just ignore it.

Just within the past month, I had an item listed for 89, I got an offer for 30. I paid 12 for it. I could have accepted the offer and made money. I chose to hold off but was tempted. If they were a repeat customer, I would not have hesitated to take the low offer

Anyway, good luck with your listings.
