Best offer terms option

I am looking to see if there is a way to change the additional terms when making counter offers. We have free shipping and when making the counter offer, it always says "Additional terms:
Offer price does not include shipping and taxes." So I always write out that this includes free shipping. Can this be changed? I haven't found any options for this.

No, it cannot be changed. When a buyer views the offer, it will state the shipping cost, whether it is free or not. I fail to see what your concern is here.

I have turned down offers received because the listing said 'free shipping' and the offer said 'Does not include shipping'. I assumed the seller was reworking the offer to make room for a discount. I may have misunderstood but I still turned down the offer, thought it was a snub from the seller, and never looked back.

Just my personal experience.

Hi @realtruckstore

I think your extra statement is more likely to confuse the buyer.

If shipping is free for that listing … you can put in the message:  Shipping is free.  [That won’t be contradicting any eBay statement.]

The reply below is why this is a concern. When dealing with buyers, many can be easily confused or scared away by exactly this. When you have multiple messages asking about this because the products we sell are not cheap to ship, customers do not like to see messages from eBay stating this. Clear communication is one of many basic business principals.

This is exactly my concern. No matter what setting you have or policy in place, offers always say this even though this is not the case if the seller has free shipping.

If it is free shipping, there is no need to put does not include shipping. Just leave that blank.

To me it's clear as day - an offer does not include any shipping costs or tax.  If the shipping cost on the listing is $5, it's $5 on the offer.  If the shipping cost on the listing is free, it's free on the offer.

The easier you are to offend the easier you are to control.

There doesn't appear to be any way to edit or delete the "Offer price does not include shipping and taxes' wording that ebay adds when Review Counter offer is clicked.  The wording magically appears and there doesn't seem to be a way to change it.  If someone knows how I'd love to hear how.  Thanks in advance.
