Not clear on this issue. If you are on Time Away but monitoring messages and get offers while away will you be able to ship those on the specified day back?

Yes. I’m on time away mode now - took some offers, and ship by date is calculated as return date + normal handling time.

Thank you. I am about to go on Time Away. The hard part is having several days with no auctions ending. But one small payout won't kill me.

I'm on time away now, I'm not sending any offers (to not delude anyone into thinking it will be shipped soon). If they email message me an offer I'll wait until I get back, if it's an actual offer, those have auto accept so long as they don't write a note, so I'm presuming I can ship those when I get back too.

I hear you, I had almost nil payout before my last time away (where the store was actually shut down for a month). I just postpone paying for stuff until I got back, and made sure I took care of any time sensitive stuff before I left with previous payouts.

Are your offers buyer-initiated and manually accepted @powell-memorabilia ? That seems like an odd exception to the rule as all other offer scenarios will not factor time away into handling time. Why would a manually accepted buyer offer be treated differently than an auto-accepted buyer offer kyle@ebay ?
Are your offers buyer initiated @keziak or are they counter-offers to something seller-initiated? Apparently it makes a difference.

Whether you choose to allow sales or pause them, delivery dates won't be updated for:
You may want to change the shipping format or the handling times on these items while on time away.

- Second Chance Offers
- Auto-accepted offers
- Pending counter-offers
- Seller initiated offers accepted during Time Away
- Items with local pickup or in-store pickup as the shipping option
- Digital items
- Athletic shoes eligible for Authenticity Guarantee
You may want to change the shipping format or the handling times on these items while on time away.
So that means if I have best offer on an item (which I do because someone asked me to put that on), and he buys now that I'm on time away, I have to ship within the handling time? It will auto accept so long as he doesn't put in a note.

Yeah, auto-accepted offers need to be shipped per regular handling time @sin-n-dex and won't factor in your time away.

So basically if you have best offer on your listing you can't have your handling time extended. Most people have auto accept on best offer (to avoid being bombarded with silly offers they won't consider).
I only have a select few listings with best offer that were set up that way for someone to buy it (whom I couldn't send an offer to), so probably at worse it will be 1 or 2 items...
I'll be back on Sunday anyway, so I can still ship in my handling time regardless, I just don't want to be pestered at 4am after someone buys something to get it shipped immediately. I'm going to message anyone who buys, but just as added protection I put time away.
Thanks for clearing this up.

That was the reason for my post, after reading that.
I have some auctions and all FP listings with Best Offer. So I am wondering if I can accept any offers safely while away. Clearly I can't use the feature to send offers for my items on Watch lists. But apparently if a buyer submits an offer I can accept it and not have to ship until I'm back?

You can set up auto-decline without setting up auto-accept. That would prevent you from seeing lowballs, but you'd still have to manually accept what you consider acceptable.

According to powell-memorabilia that worked for them? But every other type of offer does not play well with time away settings so if powell hadn't written that I would have said no to all offers. Maybe if Kyle sees my above tag tomorrow he will weigh in and provide some clarity.

Mine are all buyer initiated offers - I have no auto accepts.

Hey @wastingtime101 that is correct (though still a bit odd). A manually accepted offer will be treated differently than an auto-accepted offer. This is one of the reasons we recommend canceling any pending offers and turn off auto-accept when using Time Away.
That said, this is some great feedback we'll be happy to pass along to the appropriate teams!
