Below Standard seller...Need a bit of advice....

So, we recently lost someone in a tragic way. As a result, I had to fly out of state for a long period of time to handle the situation.  In all honestly, Ebay was the furthest thing from my mind during this time. There was a period of time where I was so distraught I forgot I was even a reseller. After everything was taken care of  I made a couple rookie mistakes with my store, like cancelling orders due to out of stock. To say I was a mess is an understatement.

I fell "below standard" rather quickly. I had approximately 400 items listed at the time. And then it happened. A little at a time Ebay slowly started moving my items to the "unsold" section of my account. when all was said and done, I was left with a couple high end purses and a few video games and c.d.s.   And then the big bomb...I "cannot list any new items", I cannot relist my unsold section. After numerous phone calls to Ebay, I quick discovered.... Ebay could care less about my personal life. They needed to see numbers. I've always known Ebay isn't a big fan of their sellers. But this was a reality check.  I called Ebay frequently since September 27th. being told they need to see movement. Ebay, you left me the bottom shelf of my store. All my high-end items are not available. My last conversation was an agent telling me, ok you everything looks good, "you will see an increase of listings on October 27th" (today).....Great!!!! but wrong! Now a different agent telling me I have to wait for November 27th for my next review....B.S.!!!.... another month to sit and wait for their holiness to grant me access to sell again. , awesome!! Bitter?? yes, a tad.  I totally believe its which agent you get on the phone that can move the needle one direction or another, but that's for another conversation.

So, here I am running 60% off sales to "hopefully" move the balance of my inventory. At 11:00 today I will be kicking it up to 80% off sales, just to move product and get sales God willing. I hate that I'm in this situation, For the record, I don't blame anyone but me. But I do need advice. Is there anything else I can do to get back in the good graces of the almighty Ebay?

Today is still October 27th for fourteen hours Pacific Time.

More importantly, the phone reps have a terrible reputation for getting you off the phone as soon as possible even if that means giving you the advice you want to hear instead of the advice you need to have.

You are able to sell still on eBay.

It's was a job just getting started and imagine all the loops you had to go through to get to sell here.

It's not easy and can be frustrating at times.

I would promote everything at 2% which is the lowest a seller can go.

You lose 2 cents on every dollar of a promoted item.

A seller wants to get on other sellers pages...promoted at 2% will help.

Look at other sellers items and lower your price like a dollar or so.

Free domestic shipping helps...raise the price of the item to offset shipping.

Some buyers see cost of item + shipping + tax(which you don't see until you make that purchase).

Buyers love free shipping...plus adds to maybe no one complaining about shipping.

Buyer will now see one price before the tax.

Got to get above average...lot of sales and feedbacks.

Selling some cheapie items as well...post cards, decals, cheap jewelry, etc.

The cheapie items usually are where buyers leave the feedback.

Good luck.

I don’t have any suggestions but I am  sorry for your loss.

Unfortunately, below standard sellers aren’t able to promote listings.

@repackshack

Sorry to hear of the troubles.

You are correct in that eBay accepts no circumstances for cancelling orders etc. (perhaps they might on weather related issues when it is posted that protections are in place)

I doubt the eBay reps you having been talking to have any authority to help you. Everything is calculated by metrics and shown in Seller Hub.

The seller defects you have incurred will fall off after one year and if you make no more mistakes in the meantime, your account can return to above standard. Diluting the percentages is helpful and could make that day come sooner.

Best of luck in sales to you.

Idk if its still true, but we were told by a mod quite a while ago that the social media reps will not help with restricted, or suspended accounts. But of course, it wouldnt hurt the op to at least give it a try.

Thank you for the advice. It is very much appreciated. The first place I tried was promoted listings, but they have taken them from me as well. I think my best approach will be running sales.... before they take those from me as well.  Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.
