Being reminded every time I use Ebay through a desktop browser to download the stupid app

I use ebay once a month and this is what have to deal with every time I sign in.  This stupid pop up that I have to click out of just to be able to proceed with what I am doing.  I DON'T WANT to download the eBay app.  And I sure don't need to be nagged every time I use this service to download it either.  GET RID OF THIS NOW.  How about you use EMAIL to send me junk communications instead of the interface of software?

It is annoying but it's doubtful they will change it in these times of apps for even the most basic things in life.

When I retired I uninstalled every app I possibly could from my phone and it's rare for me to get any spam or unwanted calls etc. I don't know if there's a correlation but I usted to get alot more before.

I won't even give my cell # to my doctor's office and call anyone that's not on my contact list from my landline so they don't "pirate" my cell #.

If it's just once a month I would ignore it.

If I logged on frequently, I would download the danged thing then bang the button to hide it. I use the app when I'm on the road, but it's kind of janky.

eBay does send repeated emails about this very same thing.  If you're not getting those junk communications, consider yourself lucky.

not for sure, but seems that when it comes up, I can just click anyplace on the screen, and it goes away, but once a month would not be that taxing for me. YMMV

I get that pop up every time I go to the home page and that's why I rarely go to the home page.

Have a great day.

I've got the app on my phone and it doesn't keep me from getting the pop up every time I go to the home page on my PC.

Have a great day.

I had ChatGPT cook up this tampermonkey script for those of you that PREFER the browser version and don't want to be nagged about changing your preference every day.  This pop up literally nags me every day, now that I am selling stuff more often now.

Ironic that I have to install a browser script to automate the closing of this pop up, which is nagging me to not use the browser.  I wonder what other kinds of annoying pop ups the app has that I would be not be able to use a fix like this for

Just create an inbox rule to automatically delete the unimportant emails from eBay, that way you can still keep the notifications for buyers

@matew-48

Have you tried using a different browser and/or blocking pop ups?

Thats not a pop up that can be blocked with a content blocking extesion like uBlock because it locks the ability to scroll until the pop up is closed.

In other words, eBay REALLY wants you to download their app in case it wasn't clear enough with the $10 give away.  And that means I REALLY don't want to do it.  The golden rule of trading is the more desperate a party is, the less valuable what it is that their selling

You do realize WE CAN'T get rid of it. And WE CAN'T send you emails.

I remember my first sale I thought I had it all figured out too.  the darn app always in the way. I try telling them that's a no good app with no value but they just kept ignoring me. now I just concern myself with take a picture put in a box and let everything else work itself out. that darn app though. ebay is so desperate to have that app it's no good at all.
