In order to stop the price gouging eBay needs to prohibit anyone from listing masks, hygiene and sanitation supplies, health supplements products,  and food products until  30 days after the virus crisis is over.  All of these items are being  price gouged by sellers.

That is a poor way to manage the problem. What you are saying is incorrect. They are not being gouged by everyone, Why not simply freeze the selling accounts of those who are gouging. The problem with prohibiting these items is that they are not available in the local marketplace. By prohibiting the items in question you are punishing the buyers who can not access these items anywhere else. Why not just ban the bad guys instead of punishing everyone? You have read that even hospitals cannot attain these items, haven't you?

Obviously Ebay cannot get a handle on the problem, either from not enough employees, too many sent home, or the listings are too fast to keep up with. So I say ban every ad for coronavirus supplies too. In reality there are very few sellers who are not price-gouging with masks. I just looked!

The price gouging will not stop until eBay prohibitss the sale of all these items. They should also suspend anyone who had newly listed and sold these items in the past month. It should include masks, gloves, all sanitizers and cleaning products, hygienic paper goods, non perishable foods, isoprophyl alcohol, and healthcare supplements. If you ban these items there won’t be an incentive for these predators to buy out everything at their local stores taking it away from their own community. I’m ashamed to admit that I’m a seller on eBay as they haven’t taken a tougher stance to end this problem. It makes us all look bad. There are so many reports in the news and on social networking sites about the price gouging on eBay.

My family was at Sam’s Club about ten days ago where a group of men were in the store filling carts. They had a 26 ft UHaul truck in the lot that was filled with water toilet paper and other essentials. Clearly they were hitting all the stores and buying them out.

I’ve been to the dollar store and their shelves have been empty for all toiletries, paper goods and drinks for weeks now. Those same products are sold here at a huge markup.

Our local stores have decreased store hours, started limiting the amount you can purchase of an item, and limited the number of people that can enter the store. They also have set aside time in which only individuals 65 and older can be in the store.

Doesn't make ALL sellers look bad, just makes buyers wonder how many honest/decent people sell here. Time to "thin out the herd",maybe?

Laughed@ the first couple ones I read, but this has been going on for way too long now. It is happening elsewhere (spotted it  on WM),but eBay seems like they should have a separate catagory for it@this point.

You are spot-on about the attention it's getting too. Doesn't bode well for business,IMO.
