Do you as a buyer on eBay decide to purchase more simply because there are sellers with badges?

Are you referring to the "badges" sellers get for posting here? if so Please read this post.
Are you referring to the Top Rated Seller Plus badge? The badge itself means nothing. The 30 day free returns policy you have to offer to get that badge might give you a search boost.

When I buy my shipping supplies here on eBay I will often pay a little more and buy from someone with a Top Rated Seller badge because I know they will ship very quickly.
There is nothing that bothers me more than taking over week to get my item. So I would answer yes to your question.

Not that I ever noticed. Your lucky if bidders or buyers read the listing before clicking let alone any badges.

Badges and different colored stars don't mean much to me. I look at profile, feedback received, & feedback left for others.
If we were talking the pledge pin in the 1978 Animal House movie, that is totally different. 😂

Noticed sales have increased over the last few days since I have been badged. Didn't know if this was just a coincidence or related.

You will need to explain exactly what you mean by "been badged".

What badge do you have that you are referring to?

I want a badge.

I don't find any badges on your selling page, feedback page, or store page.
Thus, there are no badges affecting your selling.
Normally, a top-rated seller badge, on the search page, could influence buyers.
If you are referring to badges earned for posting comments here on the community, there is no correlation. A lot of sellers from Sri Lanka are perpetrating and perpetuating that bogus theory by making nonsensical posts to "improve" their selling. Community is a platform operated by a company called Khoros (you'll see their tag at the bottom of this page), whereas eBay's selling site is operated by eBay.

Do you mean the community board badges?
I guess with more people looking at your listings when you make a post, there may be a greater chance that someone will want what you sell, but I doubt it really makes much of a difference,

Community Badges, if that's what you're talking about (it's not clear what kind of "badge" you mean) have absolutely no direct effect on your sales. I have about 20 of them & right now, almost no sales LOL. Though, as Earthdream said, potentially it means someone could look at your store & buy, but I almost never look at people's items for sale from here, unless a question directly relates to it.
