The calm before the storm......keep watching, the bottom's gonna fall out soon.

Dismal Q4 Holiday sales will be the beginning of the end.

Your post makes it sound as if you want this to happen--as though you were almost eager or gleefully looking forward to it like a child waiting up for Santa. 🎅

Can I quote you on that prediction?  Q4 results should be out on 26 Jan 2022.  We shall see what we shall see.

How is it that we say 'Small' in Starbucks-speak? 🤣

By law, eBay's primary concern has to be for its investors. Not sellers, not buyers, but the investors.

Everything they do is toward this end. It's good for sellers to understand this.

I think eBay should offer a stock option to sellers via managed payments. You know, where we can divert a portion of our weekly sales to buying stock.

They aren't helping the investors any by shooting themselves in the foot so many times lately.

She's starting to wobble, and may be going down soon.

Or not, but likely if they keep doin' what they doin'.

I rarely use Star*ux so tend to forget that weird logical disjunction.

Me:  Three shots latte, size small, please.

Pleasant Staffperson:  ::holds up cup::  Did you mean a tall?

Me:  Just a small, thanks.  What is the smallest you have? (usually that's an 8 oz).

Pleasant Staffperson:  That would be a tall.  (big cup)

Me:  I'll just have three shots straight then, thanks.

Ends up with a puddle of espresso on the bottom of a tall cup. 😒

Except one Seller's dismal, might just be another Seller's "feast" on here.

All summer long we saw posts/threads on these boards from long-time Sellers who had no idea (they should have, but did not) they were not really making any money.  They were just "trading dollars".  And then to add insult to injury - the dollars they were "trading" they were used to "buy" on here.  Over and over, long-term sellers posting about how MP had taken ALL their profits.  They had NO IDEA about their TOTAL fees.

Then, the posters started in about leaving in droves thanks to the "mean ol' IRS"......."I'm not "really" a business......I should not have to pay tax".....

I think Q4 on here will be a last "hurrah" for many who think if they duck out by 12/31, the IRS will not hold them accountable for their prior "tax sins", etc.

2021 certainly has been illuminating for many sellers on many different levels.

This is a seismic change and re-alignment.  Heck ya their stock is up.  Their shareholders see "change".  Doesn't matter if they think it is the right or wrong change, but it signals online evolution.

They had to do something - the pandemic (shutdowns/forced only online selling) portion of the chaos in the US is pretty much over.  And God willing, it stays that way.

Someone said the other day that we are not in Kansas any more.  The reality - we have not been in Kansas for a very long time.  It's like trying to lose 300 lbs in a month - you can't do it.  Sellers on here are GREAT at adapting, but lately this is WHIPLASH central.   If you are a certain sized smaller seller - you have been left to work to discern for yourself how best to keep your lifeboat afloat amid all the constant changes.

The mega sellers - they're too busy selling as the modules are designed to support what "they" need.  And support it, e-Bay will.  (just like what the Behemoth did)

E-Bay is not "going" anywhere.....they are already there.  Exactly where they want to be.

Sellers would like to know why we should even care about eBay's stock?   I don't even a **** how well THEY are doing unless it helps me with sales.  Taking money from me, especially for shipping, where they provide NO SERVICE, only aids in their profits & takes from mine.   eBay's profit margin & stock prices are of no benefit to the customers aka sellers.
