Just wanted to share my most recent experience and negative feedback. I sold a mink jacket for $150 right before Christmas. Around the 2nd of January the buyer wrote and said that she had not recieved the package, even though tracking said it was delivered to her front porch. She said she went away and had her mail stopped, but the mailman delivered the package anyway and it was gone. I asked her to ask her neighbors if they might have brought it in...she wrote no, and that the post office was at fault. About two days after her last correspondence....she opened a return request, saying the jacket didn't fit. I got the jacket back and refunded her. There was a hand written note in the package that the "thief" had returned the opened package to her porch, probably because the jacket didn't fit them. A few days later there is a neg on my feedback saying I had the wrong size. Her Toolhaus record of leaving negs is horrendous....around 75 negs and 51 neutrals (she has arond 500 feedback herself). Several of her positives indicate she got refunds...
I tried two different Ebay Customer service reps, but both said she is entitled to her opinion. I remeasured the jacket and my measurements are exact. It's so disheartening and frustrating that Ebay will side with this type of buyer.

"I apologized profusely to him for misplacing the panties. he asked me to wait!"
Oh you are a bad kitty. What a vicious follow up to a negative.

I had this same discussion with an Ebay customer service rep a few months ago. An unscrupulous buyer filed a return request after having the item for 2 weeks claiming "not as described" when the truth was "buyer's remorse." He wanted "me" to pay for the return shipping....nice try! I accepted the return as "good faith" and he paid for return shipping even though it's clearly stated in my listings that there are "no returns" and, besides, ALL BUYERS are protected from "not as described" cases which are easily proved to the Ebay "judge" who handles the case (I've successfully argued my cases in "not as described" arguments by an unscrupulous buyers). Anyway, I asked the Ebay customer service rep "why" a customer can still leave "feedback" for a return since the transaction had not been materialized. She stated, "if this customer leaves negative feedback call us back and we will remove it." My argument was "why" can customers still leave negative feedback only to have it removed. This adds to the bureaucracy and why not simply extend feedback to "actual transactions." It appears you got an Ebay customer service rep who doesn't subscribe to what I was told. If you "offer" returns that may be the reason why the customer can still leave negative feedback and not have it removed....only a theory.

Sorry this happened to your OP.
As for a reply to negative FB, ask yourself, "Who do I want to speak to?" To other potential buyers, to allay concerns the negative might cause? To other sellers, to forewarn them? To the buyer who left the negative, such as to retort, tell off or shame?
What is the importance of each audience? I would allay concerns first and, warn only if there is room. The buyer knows who they are. Consider cutting from something like this:
"I want happy buyers. I measure carefully and remedy errors quickly. Pattern of neg FB speaks for itself."
Good luck!

Ebay is biased toward the buyer in a big way and there is nothing u can do. Should they change ? Absolutely. After all most sellers are just doing this part time and can be a victim of unscrupulous buyers. I find it hard to believe that buyers are allowed to leave any feedback after getting a full refund, much less negative. After all the seller has already refunded the original postage, paid for the return postage and gets back an item that doesn't even have to in good shape.
Getting a complete refund effectively negates the transaction and no feedback should be allowed.

I have declined a buyers offer based on their feedback record no matter how good the offer is. And then ban them myself.

Does getting a refund make the transaction positive? Not for many.
As for changing, ebay has already changed and are more for the buyer now than the seller. There was a time the buyer was responsible for return shipping costs no matter what. Buyers complained about having to pay return shipping on items not as described; now the seller has to pay. But, unfortunately, that means some buyers lie about the reason.

I agree however the buyer is not harmed at all, gets a complete refund and the seller has already paid enough being out shipping fees to and from. Most NF seem more vindictive than fair again especially if buyer is out no assets other time.

"1st claimed INR vs. Confirmed Delivery. 2nd claimed Does not Fit. Accepted Return for Refund."
A factual response is an option, but let me provide another perspective on how it could be worded.
I disagree with any use of acronyms. In my opionion, acronyms, in general, are one of the biggest impediments to effective communication. And I especially don't like them in this situation where the acronyms are short for eBay seller lingo - something with which the average shopper/buyer is completely unfamiliar. And the average buyer/shopper is PRIMARILY THE ONE READING AND RELYING ON UNDERSTANDING THE COMMENTS IN YOUR FEEDBACK as a basis for making a decision about you as a seller! An acronym like "INR" would be completely useless to the average reader of your feedback, trying to decide whether or not to pull the trigger and make a purchase from you.
This probably has too many characters but here's another suggestion:
Buyer claimd item not rec'd;L8tr confrmd delivry & claimd didnt fit; Then returnd;gave FULL REFUND
So sorry this happened to you. A few people are just awful people.
Right. Because L8tr is less confusing than INR and shorter than Later.
