Nice idea, if it works. However, I wonder if it is possible in ebay's seemingly one-size-fits-all world.

Just remember, you get what you pay for.

I wonder what their idea of success is...somehow I doubt it's the same as mine.

Wow. If someone needs schooling to sell on here, maybe they should just get a normal job instead?

A few years ago ebay had a sellers "Boot Camp" . Some interesting info but mostly geared to getting one to open a store, do free shipping/returns....you know the "best pratices" pitch.
Did get some good tips from other sellers to try out some of which I adopted.

I have a feeling about this...
I will keep it short...
Ebay teachers teaching ebay sellers...
That is a conflict of interest.
All I have to know.

That's a bit unfair as there has been some very good and informative meetings and classes that Ebay has offered over the years. Certainly not all are created equal, but speaking for myself I have learn much over the years by listening. I don't always agree, but I'm willing to listen.

Why do you feel it is a "conflict of interest". Ebay makes all kinds of recommendations all the time on endless subjects. That doesn't mean the seller has to do all of them. It is for us to decide what is best to do for our little businesses. Certainly Ebay may want to guide you one direction or another. But what we need to do is take that information, learn from it and then decide what is best for us within the rules of Ebay.

Are we gonna be tested on this?

This could be a good thing if eBay gives the Basics to newbies (and some oldies still stuck in 1998)
Have you seen some of the listings on here?
One dark, blurry photo of a pile of stuff.
Condition "see pics"
No Item Specifics, measurements or anything.
Description "Good" .... with 1000 words of unenforceable TOS in bright red blinky font like "I am not responsible for anything, tough nougies"
Sellers that pack glass with 1 piece of bubble wrap in a poly mailer and don't believe the buyer when they say it arrived smashed to bits "I wrote Fragile on it!!!"
And the sellers that think every single buyer is a scammer. Ranting and raving about something ... when you look at the listing or get more info, it is obvious that the seller is in the wrong.
Some sellers NEED schooling.

Some sellers NEED schooling.
More than a few.....in my opinion, unfortunately most who need it probably won't participate........ Many that are now good, may take a look at it. Problem to me is how many different ways there are......the different listing forms, who/why they are used, all the differences, etc. Should be interesting to see how they handle everything......
