As a Seller & Buyer on eBay for many years have been told how Seller feedback is so important to community safety. I think after all this time and having been a victim of ambush feedback it is time that buyers feedback negative and positive be shown. What i mean is the ledger should show how often a buyer leaves negative feedback on sellers. There are increasingly many buyers who are serial negative feedback ( and item return abuse ) providers who do it with impunity because they will not be revealed. If eBay is to be a safe community it should be for ALL !
I think it is time that it should be discussed at least.
Thanks

Are you not familiar with how to look at both buyers' and sellers' feedback? Unless a buyer has private feedback, if you look at their "feedback left for others," you can see what they leave.

Feedback is pretty useless except in hindsight.
Most transactions are Fixed Price, and many supposed Auction listings include a Buy It Now price, so the seller only sees the buyer's feedback after they have purchased.
The seller might get a heads-up if they are using Auction with no options (BIN or Best Offer) or if they don't add any automatic parameters to the Best Offer option on FP listings.

Feedback is not useless as it will show a pattern of abuse as it stands now problem buyers are free to do as they wish under the radar with 100% positive feedback. If it shows how many negative feedbacks they leave and return percentage to sellers we will at least have an idea of the people we are dealing with. Right now they can get away with anything under broad daylight. The abuse has gotten worse and worse because ebay and amazon are practically saying to buyers get it for free return at will because they are not the ones suffering damage. Wallmart is even telling the buyers get your refunds they do not even have to return the items anymore because all the losses are being passed on to the suppliers so who cares i guess.

You can see a buyer's feedback that they left for others. So when you do get a purchase from an abuser(I did this morning), will you cancel the order? Citing what reason? You're kind of forced into following through with the sale and shipping the item to them. I personally, am over it. I would have rather not known. I rarely look at my own feedback anymore. If someone wants what I'm selling, they'll buy it.

I can look at your Feedback Profile to see all the feedback you have left for others:

you can not leave a buyer a negative; it again the rules and regs of eBay.
Simple.
Feedback these days is useless as a lot of buyers do not even bother to leave it as well.

And a few of us have said exactly you can see just what you want to see. I even provided a screenshot for you. All the feeback left by any member, as both a seller and a buyer, is public info to be seen in the user's feedback profile.

My bad - never looked or dealt with it for 20 years. Only came to mind because though I have been ambushed in the past ( am not saying i haven't deserved some negative feedback ) but when one is ambushed at an increasingly rate and sometimes dealing with people who seem psychotic it becomes an issue. If people are serial abusers theres got to be a limit. I mean how long does the system allow serial killers to roam the street until enough's enough ?

I don't understand your claim here. Any seller can look up any buyer's feedback profile and see all the FB that buyer has left, both negative and positive. Any buyer can look up any seller's FB, but sellers are only allowed to leave positive FB for buyers. Feel free to cling to your claim that we can't see the negatives buyers leave for sellers, but it's just not true.

LOL Some times I mees it:
I have sold to buyers that appear to be chronic negative feedback buyers. They just don't leave feedback unless it is bad. No point for em to do so.
To do such you would need to fully know how many transactions they made: to the feedback left.
Such as you asked does not and would not work. Ebay for sure is not going to show such info.

Exactly so. Many, many buyers do not leave feedback when everything is satisfactory. They leave feedback only when they're unhappy. So there's no way to know what per cent of transactions they rate negatively.
The only thing I might consider when looking at a buyer's negative feedback left, to see if it could warn me of a problem that might arise, is the nature of the negative feedback. Is it a simple statement of dissatisfaction and why? "Book poorly packed for shipping, resulting in bad bump to corner of cover." That's okay. Or is it a rant? "Seller is ugly *bleep* thieving dirty scum who probably kicks puppies and steals candy from toddlers when he isn't *bleep* over his buyers with his *bleep* stinking lies and nasty..." Not so okay.
