Better question is - why have you waited a month before cancelling the sale as unpaid? eBay allows you to do this in as little as 4 days. You can even set it up so that eBay does all the work for you, and cancels for you after a set number of days.
Your order is unpaid because you have not cancelled it as unpaid. Buyers sometimes do this - so you either sit and wait and wait, or you set a deadline and enforce it. I've been using 4 days for as long as I can remember, starting back when eBay first introduced the Unpaid Item Assistant. Hasn't been an issue since. And I get a Message & email each time an order is cancelled as unpaid so that I can relist the item. Easy-peasy.

Why would you wait so long for payment. When a buyer has not paid you within 96 hours after the purchase, you should cancel the transaction using the reason as the buyer did not pay. Then you would be free to relist your item and hopefully sell to someone willing to pay.
Never wait this long again. It isn't helpful to you at all.
You have a nice little business you are building. I wish you the best of luck.

Have you considered using the "Immediate Payment Required" optional feature - sure helped me when I was selling on eBay.
Here is a link on how it works in the US - you are in China and may have a different policy/procedure - check your "help and contact" link.

As others noted you should setup your account settings to automatically cancel the order after 96 hours for non-payment. As for the why. You are in China and your listings indicate some items are located in China and some are located in the US and it may be the buyer purchased one of the items in China but did not notice the protracted delivery time until after they placed the order. It could be they changed their mind, found the item cheaper elsewhere, ordered by mistake...................
You can always also set your listings to immediate payment required but there are tradeoff's in doing that, You can also now set your account settings to require the buyer to provide a payment method prior to making an offer, which is similar to IPR but there are also tradeoffs to doing that as well.

So you're unaware that a seller can cancel if still unpaid after 96 hours?
PLEASE go back and read more about how to sell on eBay. You may have listed other valuable information.

Side note: Orders cancelled as Unpaid still count as a Sale when Best Match search rankings are calculated. Having a recent sale tends to help that ranking, making it easier to get the next sale, and so on and so on. It doesn't matter that you are relisting the same physical item -- the first buyer didn't pay, so you still have it and you still want to sell it. So relist, get that extra bump, and sell to someone who actually wants it.

OK, thank you. But that wasn't what I addressed in my post and it isn't what the OP is asking about. But thanks.

Same reason as people come here and ask a question and never come back to see the answer I suppose.
