Hello, I recently sold an item but eBay is still saying awaiting payment. PayPal emailed me stating "(buyers email) has initiated a PayPal payment to you - funded from the sender's bank account - on Aug 20, 2017 18:52:21 PDT." It also states that if the payment is still pending or the funds are not collected after 30 days, the transaction will be automatically cancelled. The sender can cancel this transaction anytime before you collect the funds. I'm a bit worried. I have been a buyer and seller for a few years and I never came accross this. I'm skeptical whether or not I should ship this item out. I'm not really sure if I'll be covered in this situation. Please help

You got an e-check. When eBay says it's okay to ship, you ship. Should be about 3-5 days. You're fine, don't over think anything.

You've been buying and selling for a few years and this is your first e-check?

It's nothing to be concerned about. It's a normal transaction that just takes a little longer because it's a check and it needs to clear first.

If it is coming out of his bank account it can take 5 days for it to reach buyer's paypal account.

You got an e-check. When eBay says it's okay to ship, you ship. Should be about 3-5 days. You're fine, don't over think anything.

When PayPal says it's OK to ship - by logging directly in, not through an email link.

I recently have an item going through this same issue, it sold on august 15th and the e-check still is pending thru paypal, ebay said send it, paypal said send it, then ebay on august 17th emailed me saying it may be fraudulent, now paypal says there is nothing to do but wait since it is still early in the process, my package got there today but i cant email the buyer since ebay says they are not registered (very strange) ebay said i was 100% protected and got a reference number to that convo but heres to waiting for a hopeful e-check to go through, this is taking forever. Any suggestions on my end? Im also new to selling and e-checks.

You have absolutely no decision to make. You wait until PP says "ok to ship".

For the future, note that BIN/IPR will not accept an e-check as payment.

Are you sure that it was an echeck and not just a new seller payment hold as PayPal doesn't usually say to mail an item out until an echeck has cleared. If it is an echeck you should not have mailed it yet as neither eBay or PP will be able to force the buyer to pay if it doesn't clear. The fact that the buyer is no longer registered is a red flag but I hope that everything works out for you.

I haven't gotten an e check for a long time. When I did receive an e check pay pal wouldn't enter a shipping address for the buyer until the e check had cleared. It was easy to know when an e check cleared as then pay pal would enter the ship to address & state it was ok to ship the item in the pay pal transaction. If the ship to address was blank it meant the payment hadn't cleared yet. Since I have had e checks that have never cleared in the past I never ship until pay pal enters the ship to address & states it's ok to ship.
