What is your average sales over the last 6 days?  I'm under $30 a day.  Any reason why I shouldn't close my store & remove everything?  I would do worse elsewhere?   Have a good weekend.   Good luck to us all.    🙂

I have shutdown and moved on. This site used to be the bomb and a good source of income but not anymore. I hope everyone experiencing issues would move on and stop giving eBay their energy and money. They don't deserve it! Interesting though that I'm now a 'Top Rated Seller' despite not having any listings...

Hate to break it to you, but most buyers aren't looking to make an offer.  So if you are over priced, you are done.

I have Make on Offer on over 2/3 of my inventory.  It is also automated, so you instantly find out if you are declined.I would say that for every one sale where someone makes a successful offer, I have 9 sales where no one made an offer at all, even though  the option is there.

The reason is that most people don't want to fool with making offers.  No one wants to make an offer and then wait for hours for a response, only to get declined.

If you are overpricing your items and then expecting offers to allow a buyer to get it for market price, then expect not to sell much.

The most strategic way to use offers is to make a list price that is competitive (the cheapest or near the cheapest price on E-Bay).  Automate your offer response (auto accept/decline).  Set your offer limits for just a buck or two off your asking price.

If you are selling smartly, $1 won't kill your margin, but for people who like to haggle, that extra dollar off makes them feel like they won.  They leave happy and you leave with a sale.

Depending on what you sell, you may not do better elsewhere.  You may do much worse.  Each market has its pros and cons.  E-bay is still the best mixed market out there, but you can have more success in certain categories, elsewhere.

But you have.  Maybe you aren't aware, but you have.  Some of your items, like you Unicron for $85, may be reasonably priced.  But many items, like your Fear Factor binder, are well over priced.

The last online sale of a NEW Mead Fear Factor binder was $11 with free shipping.  You don't list your condition and your price is $22 USD plus shipping.

Or your Games Workshop miniatures.  I sell those too, and you are way overpriced there.

My impression is that you got a bunch of stuff, you didn't know what it was worth, and you priced it between $20-$30 and you are hoping to get an offer.

I already sold some miniatures on best offer.  If there is no set price on items, might as well just throw it up & see what happens.  I do investigate prices on here before posting.  If I don't see a current listing or something previously sold, I can only guess a price.  If someone wants something but, can't bother to make an offer, not my problem.  Some email me first - asking for a best price, etc.  I was able to see what the Unicron sold for so, I could figure out a price.  A lot of my sales go with best offer so, I'm not concerned with changing my strategy regarding that set up.  Recently sold a Korean LP for $20 US.  Last one to sell on here went for $40.  I took 1/2 so, I'm a reasonable seller.  eBay prices can be all over the place.  I'm just selling items for prices I'm happy with.  I've seen similar items go for anywhere from $8-35.   What price are we supposed to post the same item for if prices are so inconsistent?  I'd throw mine on for $20-25 & wait to see what happens.  I can't worry about other sellers with their free shipping, etc.  Sorry - if I sold my binder for $11 + free S/H.  The deal would be a complete loss for me plus, I'd be out what I paid for the binder.  It would cost me the $11 just to mail it.

So what the poster showed you is the last one NEW sold for $11 and yours is USED. I understand you won't make money but buyers will not purchase a USED one when they can get a NEW one for $11. With that said, it's too late now because you already purchased your inventory. The rule of thumb is you make $$ when you PURCHASE your items. It looks like you paid too much.

I was at an auction a few months back wanting to purchase some collectable Green Bay Packers glasses. I already figured just to break even ( I would have been happy with that), the cost of Ebay fees, shipping, and paypal fees so I set the max amount I was willing to bid. The auction ended up selling for $75 MORE than I would have got here on Ebay. I just shook my head and laughed because the person was most likely an Ebay seller who was going to loose big time on the deal.

I always love auction buyers who think someone else paid too much. Considering you have no clue where they would sell it and ebay certainly is NOT the be all and end all of the pricing world, you don't have a clue what they are really worth. Especially if one only checks BIN prices.

And buying just to break even is a losing strategy. Of course, a mass market 'collectible' only has value in the eyes of the beholder - and only lasts for a few years if that.

Those are the sellers who let their items sit for year and years here on Ebay and complain of no sales and its eBay's fault.

If a potential buyer can't find it, then they can't buy it.

I have sold many, many items from the shop that sat there for 5-6 years - at full price. Just takes one to come across it. If a seller wants to keep listing it at that price, it is their prerogative. Eventually it will be seen and sold -- at least when ebay decides to show that instead of a completely unrelated item or a reproduced piece of junk from china or india(which is why I do not shop overseas - I don't want to give them even just ONE more thing to knock off).

That's true they sure can let it sit for years if they choose. If they do there is no one to blame but themselves if it sits though. Whining won't help get a buyer and it confuses sellers who come here thinking it is eBay's fault. Especially when they come here saying buyers cannot find anything when searching. Once again tell me something ebay hides from you and I will be glad to show you it is visible when doing a search.

A friend of mine, who lives just 40 mins away from me, did a search (sold & current) for a sports card.  While on the phone with him, I did the same search.  We both found different results.  Neither of us saw the same listings.  Not everyone sees the same listings.  Some are invisible to potential buyers.  Now, you can quit with the same argument because you are wrong.    🙂

You do know that best match is a search specific for each individual ? Next time you talk to your friend on the phone have him/her sign out and clear cookies and search again. Most retail business on line does it that way now. The good news for you is that almost everyone who searchers your stuff changes the default from best match. In your case they can search highest first and you will show up #1. Also next time you cannot find something COME HERE so we can show you it is in FACT not hidden.
