Auto relisting

My daughter just started selling, Why did the items that didn't sell auto re-list. I've sold for years and haven't ever had any items auto re-list, can't find where to shut it off

Fixed price listings are "good till cancelled" (GTC) and will renew on the same day each month unless manually ended. 

Some new sellers have auctions that auto relist for up to 8 times automatically. To not renew the "relist box" must be unchecked.
