Auto decline/ Auto accept

Good Morning all.  Just curious as to whether anyone else had ran across this. In the middle of the night someone put in a $15 offer on a $30 item.  Usually I wouldn't accept this offer, but it was accepted without my approval. I checked my listing to make sure that I hadn't used the auto accept and I hadn't!  For $15 I won't bother the buyer, the inconvenience to him isn't worth it, but this bothers me.  What happens when someone offers $20 for a $100 item? Any thoughts?

Auto decline/ Auto accept

Hello, we do not use the auto decline or accept feature.  We feel that it is better to review all offers and then make the decision accordingly.  In your case we would definitely contact ebay and detail what exactly happened on your sales order.  If there is a glitch in the system, then it needs to be fixed so that it will not happen again.  Good luck.

Thanks. I never use auto accept, but do use auto decline to weed out the insulting lowball offers!

Maybe you wrote the 15 dollars under accept instead of decline? I absolutely abhor when ebay decides to insert their best offer. I got a $1.00 the other day as a suggestion on a Hot wheels that is mint and nearly 30 years old!

Auto decline/ Auto accept

There are lots of threads here about auto-accept & auto-decline prices being automatically inserted on listings with Best Offer. The complaints, from each end of the spectrum: "I would not have accepted that little," and "I would have counter-offered instead of auto-rejecting that offer."

The "helpful" insertion of amounts in those fields seems more prevalent - or perhaps limited - to listings at least partially created via the mobile app. I list only on desktop, but I protect pricing integrity by inserting my own auto-accept & auto-decline levels. I give it ZERO thought. I auto-decline at $1.50 & auto-accept at $1 less than the list price. What I actually will accept depends upon how much I have invested in the item, how plentiful/rare it is, how my sales are that week...a number of things. Regardless, I want the opportunity to personally interact with darn near anyone who bothers to make an offer.

I quit accepting Best Offers. This has happened to me too, and I was SO TIRED of super low ball offers and then receiving DMs that are offensive and rude when I decline/end the counter offers war.  Plus with eBays fees up the ying yang I can't afford to offer buyers better prices. My fixed price is as low as I'll go... either you want it or not! 🙂
