When I attempt to first list an item for auction, the automatic relist box "Automatically relist this item up to 8 times if it doesn't sell" no longer appears. It doesn't appear using the Quick Listing Tool, nor when a previously listed item becomes an "Unsold Item".
I have a lot of low price items and the Insertion Fees are prohibitive if I have to pay for relisting. Any advice will be appreciated

Thank you for all your replies!. Ebay finally answered with this
"After reviewing the information, I do see that the option to select "relist up to 8 times automatically if it does not sell" is not coming up on the draft listings created. We have not removed this option from our site. I went ahead reported the issue to a team of specialist that work with errors on our site. They will review your account and see what is going on to fix the technical issue."
So I'm hoping the issue does not have to do with our selling status, (although that it does seem strange that there are not many people affected) I also sent them a note asking if we create new listings will they assure us that they will then credit us if we have to relist them manually. Also, said it is keeping us from putting items out there.
Hopefully, we will get an answer soon. It does not show anywhere on Ebay that the free automatic relists are only for new sellers.

I'm glad this topic is finally receiving some attention. I have over a hundred items for sale that are listed for around $5. To sell them for anything less is not worth the cost, time and trouble of packing after eBay takes its fees based on the selling price of the item and the shipping and the minimum PayPal fee, which is based on the total transaction, now including the sales tax! It is ridiculous to consider the added 35¢ Insertion fee every month.

Still no reply from Ebay. Just noticed at the top of our profile it now shows Power Seller. Does that mean they no longer want us to make any money, and they take away automatic relists?

As of 2 weeks ago, I no longer have the "checkbox" to automatically relist my auctions, either.
I emailed customer support daily for over a week, and I kept getting dismissive responses, explaining to me how to check a box, rather than addressing the fact that a box no longer existed. To say this is exceptionally frustrating is a wild understatement.
I was forced over from the quick listing tool to the business tool right before this happened, so I assumed the two incidents had some kind of connection, but every instructional on ebay's site simply states that "your auction will automatically relist up to 8 times, just check the box," yadda yadda. Again, not helpful at all.
After almost 2 weeks of back and forth, I received this "explanation" message:
Thank you for writing to eBay Customer Service regarding automatic relist. I understand how important this is for you to get this sorted out and I'll be happy to assist.
When an item doesn't auto relist due to a problem, there is a note in Unsold which advises that the auto relist failed. The auto relist feature is an ongoing promotion that is subject to change. The automatic relist option is only available on listings created by new, occasional, or lapsed sellers. Please take not that you are already considered as an established seller in eBay.
I hope this information is helpful and wish you all the best with your future eBay listings.
My message back is as follows:
So, you're saying that the auto-relist option is NOT available to me from now on because I'm not considered a "new seller" anymore? Why is there no mention of this policy anywhere on ebay's website, and nowhere to be found in any of the help forums? I've never heard this before, and it doesn't sound accurate, especially since your support team had ZERO IDEA for over a week and directed me to IT. How do I opt-in to continue to use the auto-relist option?
And he reply I just got mere moments ago:
Unfortunately, we don't have any way to opt you in to the automatic relist up to 8 times. Since again, this option are for new sellers here in eBay.
My mind is blown. Someone else said that it's like ebay is punishing success. That's ABSOLUTELY what is happening here for sellers who utilize traditional auctions in an effort to make the profit (and, by direct correlation, make more money for ebay). I've never heard of something so absurd.

Ha ha- all you guys are lucky- I only got the automatic relist option about 10 weeks ago (been selling on ebay for 20 years). i thought it had something to do with covid (maybe promoting easier listing from a hospital bed?).
i loved it, years ago ebay had a 3x relist option that you paid for listing each time.
but soon as i got used to not having to track all my auctions (allowing me to list more), the option disappeared.
so now I'm back to just a few auctions and cycling them, relisting them a week later (so regular customers know when to look and when to bid).
oh well, another good idea gone.

I just got off a call with Ebay about this issue. I was basically told that the automatic relist option is now only available to "new or casual" sellers. I'm not sure if this was communicated in some updated user agreement, but it's really unfortunate and disappointing. Seems like Ebay should be taking care of reliable and consistent sellers, and not taking away key features at random.
I was also told that creating listings using the mobile app are defaulted to automatically relist, but there's no way to know until the auction actually ends. Again, in 2020 it seems like this is something that could be a lot more streamlined and efficient. It was also made clear that if you begin a listing on a laptop and then complete it on the app (which I was doing), but likely will not automatically relist.
So, I guess this means I'll have fewer listings which means fewer sales. Seems counterintuitive on Ebay's part as it means they'll be collecting less in fees from me and everyone else who has taken advantage of the automatic relist function.
My hope is that it's just a glitch that will be worked out in the near future. Or that they'll compensate by offering more free listings each month.

It's a PERK - that's it, a perk to encourage people to start listing again.

Several months ago the automatic relist box option disappeared from my listings as well. I have been on the phone with them to fix the issue a couple of times and they have yet to tell me that it is only for new or lapsed sellers. If that is the case, it only makes me want to quit selling on Ebay. So much for encouraging new sellers or lapsed sellers; it is only discouraging long time sellers!

I've been a eBay member for 21 years. This feature appeared for me sometime in 2019. I will have it for a few months and then it will go away for a few months. No explanation. It vanishes from active listings that had it when listed.
I miss the days of the promotions that offered 100,000 free listings over the course of a week. They used to over those monthly.

it is 12/15/20 I and having that issue and they said the same thing to me.

I've been equally frustrated by the mysterious nature of this feature. I called Ebay a few times about it but got different answers, all unsatisfactory. The button to relist disappeared for me for a few months, but then it showed up again last week for a few days. And now it's gone again. My theory is that it is an option when your 90 day sales total drops below a certain point. But who knows?

I’m in the same boat. They claim they offer 8 free relists on their website. I’ve contacted them nearly 15 times to try to resolve the problem. They say it’s a problem with my account but have still not fixed it.

After 2 months of calls complaining about the auto reset disappeared....
Thank you for your reply. It is understandable how frustrating it is because the auto relist option is not showing up in your listing page. This is Jena and I am glad to help you with this.
The previous phone representative referred you to us. I appreciate your time for sending the screen shots over and using some troubleshooting steps like using different browsers or even creating a new account. I review your account and our records show that the account is an established selling account, therefore this feature will not be available.
Please keep in mind that the auto relist feature is an ongoing promotion that is subject to change. This feature is only available on listings created by new, occasional, or lapsed sellers. This is based on a complicated seller segmentation system. The segmentation updates once a week, and the option will disappear when the seller moves to a higher segment
At the same time, for the new account you have created, the auto relist feature will not be available yet because you need to create a seller account first by creating and listing the first item. By the time the second listing was created, the option will be available. If possible, I highly recommend to contact us using the new account and attach the screen shots so that we can investigate further.
I’m glad to have assisted you about automatic relisting.
Thank you for being a part of our community and for selling on eBay.
Warm regards,
Jena L.
