Authentication service is a joke

Sold an item that required authentication. It failed the review because it didn’t match the description or pictures. Total scam. Same card sent, no photoshop, just a total waste of time and money. If I continue to use eBay, I’ll do my best to avoid selling anything that goes through their bogus service

@eriric5

The Authentication process has had a few problems in the past.  I see many posts concerning.  Hiring random people who get a list of what to look for where authentication is concerned is a joke.  If they are not personally familiar with the product and have any back ground concerning (education, GIA, etc.) there are no guarantees.  Sad but true.

Sorry for your trouble and situation.

Re: Authentication service is a joke

eBay takes over 12% of sales and is trying to take total control of its sellers.

I sold a new pair of Hoka that I purchased from Hoka and they failed them because the box had a dent in it. I then got negative feedback which I couldn’t reverse. The second time the shoes passed but the buyer returned except I didn’t receive the return EBay did. Don’t know what happened to those shoes eBay wouldn’t tell me.

Re: Authentication service is a joke

I have had two items go to their "experts" in the last few months and had problems with both. One was an official certifies card from Topps. It was not authenticated because the authenticator there was a letter missing from the signature.  The second autographed card passed authentication but I received a nasty gram because they did not like the corners of the card and said it did not match the description. The card was perfect when it left here and the photo they sent me showed the card out of the hard plastic holder. Why did they remove it? The whole system is a joke.
