I had an auction up, and a buyer sent in a Best Offer that I accepted hours ago. Well, just a few moments ago, the buyer sends me a Question About Item: "Sorry I would like to cancel this order. another seller approved my bid on the same card".
What am I supposed to do? Should I let the unpaid item time out to an unpaid item case, or should I initiate a cancellation from the seller end? I heard that final value fees were already assessed. What's the best move?

Either strategy will get you a credit for the FVF. I recommend that you just cancel the transaction, citing "Buyer requested."

Canceling under buyer requested will also refund your fees from eBay. Buyer did you a favor in not allowing you to ship and have to pay for a return label....

Cancellation is faster (immediate vs 6 to 8 days) and allows you to relist immediately.
Be sure to use "Buyer Request" as the reason.
The buyer can leave feedback. Which is a consideration.
You can also open an Unpaid Item Dispute after 96 hours(48 if you are in the USA) and close it if it is Unpaid after a further 96 hours. The buyer gets a Strike which makes it more difficult to buy on eBay in future.
The buyer cannot leave feedback if he does not pay.
For the future, go to your Seller Preferences/Buyer Requirements and put an a
automatic Block on members with Strikes.
