Help! I listed an item for auction, and included an amount (at least 30% over starting price) for "Buy it Now". I got a message from a buyer saying they wanted to buy it outright and asked for help doing so. I thought it was odd, since there's a button to click that would take you through the process.
I checked my listing and, although it clearly states a buy it now price, the only option for a buyer is to place a bid...there is no buy it now button.
I even opened it up to see if it needed revision, but since there are already bids no revision is possible...and I'm wondering if I just answered my own question. Does the buy it now option go away if folks have already started bidding, and I never noticed this before?
Appreciate if anyone could shed light on this!

Does the listing have a bid from another buyer? If so, the Buy it Now button generally goes away.
The reason for this is that it is discouraging and frustrating for a buyer to bid on an auction only to find out you suddenly decided to sell to someone else before the auction ended.
Also note that if your listing has bids and you cancel the bids and end the listing in order to sell at the offer price, you will be charged fees for the listing at the high bid even thought it did not sell.

Yes, that's the answer.
