Auction v Buy it now.

Anyone else have this happen?

List something BIN for a week, a few views, no watchers.

List the same thing in auction after a week, 5 watchers and 30 views in less than 24 hours.

The same has happened before with relisting an auction with very little views as BIN.

The bit of information that would help put your post in context would be the prices on both of those listings (BIN price and auction starting price).

BARGAINS..

Well I know  some buyers  set up  their Search to  look for lowest priced items  first.  And opening  Auction  Bids  are usually lower  than  a  Bin price for the same item.  Smiley Indifferent

Actually, I wouldn't expect very many watchers on a fixed price listing.  What's to watch?

When it comes to views and watchers the only thing that really matters is the number of bids/sales.

Generally...the corollary for real estate applies to stuff on ebay...

price, price, price

Any half-savvy buyer will sort by price as a 2nd step

Most of the items I watch are Fixed Price. I have over 200 items on my watchlist as we speak. I'm comparison shopping, looking for coordinating things, waiting for sales to come in, doing research. Sometimes I find things on my phone or iPad and put them on their to examine them more closely when I'm on my desktop with the big screen.

There are plenty of great reasons to watch a BIN.

While it can be useful in that way, from a seller's point of view, only bids and/or sales really matter.  Have a lot of views and/or watchers may be nice in determining if one's title is drawing in people to have a look or if your description is interesting enough to have them stick around  to see the results, but in the end, it is the number of sales that count.
