Hi All,
I am running my 12th or so consecutive auction of the same kind of item. The item has a very distinctive model number. I put it in the title. When I searched during any of my previous auctions it came up in the search. For my current auction it does not. Is there any reason the same item with the same description would not get indexed in a new auction?
I've read a couple previous threads here but the answers don't seem applicable in my case. Several said to give it 24 hours. It has now been nearly 48 and my auction has very few views compared to previous auctions of the same item.
Here is the item for anyone curious:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/126542848873
And the search term is A1103 (and my different item, a buy it now, does show up for that term) but I also don't see it under other search terms.
Thanks for any insights!

I tried searching for it several different ways.
It comes up each and every time.

It's funny—after I posted this thread and saw your reply it did for me too. I swear to you it did not just before I posted the thread and for the prior two days. Is it possible they index it based on inbound links that are crawled in the forum? 🙂

It's obviously showing in search since you have bids and you had 12 views in 24 hours.

And those two bids were both from Sunday evening shortly after the initial listing. Obviously people are finding it.

I let people know external to search/ebay about the item. So, no, it's not obvious those views and bids are from search.

Search results depend on the parameters used. I had NO problem finding your listing with the following search. In fact it's the only one that came up.

It’s a little surprising that any listings with your out of eBay website link show up.

What's weird is that most of my searches this week for "A1103" do not have it show up at all. I also had a family member try under their eBay account and had the same thing. And the number of watchers and views is way down from earlier auctions of the same thing at this time. Is there any literature on how indexing and the eBay search algorithm work?

It's got 13 bids so buyers are finding it.

It’s the same 2 bidders who also bid on my last auction.

Search results are different for every user.
If you are logged in when you are searching, eBay probably does not consider your item to be very relevant to you since you are the one who is selling it.
When I search for "A1103" I see your item as #22 under Newly Listed and #14 under Best Match.

It can take up to 24 hours for a newly listed item to be indexed and if you make any changes the clock may start all over again. As for how the algorithm works as I mentioned earlier it depends on the parameters the searcher is using. If I search for A1103 only I get over 1,000 results. If I expand that to Mac Mini A1103 I get 31. When racked and stacked price + shipping lowest first your item is #6 in the list
