Auction listing insertion fees

I want to list items for 7 day auctions and have them auto relist if they don't sell.  I get 250 free listings and under the basic store plan, I still only get 250 free auctions.  Hypothetically that means I can only list 60 items since if they don't sell I'll eat up my 250 free listings.  Is there a way to increase this without going to the next store level?

Maybe. If you don't open a store.

New or occasional sellers have the option, when they are listing an auction-format (only), to select that the auction will auto-relist for free, up to 8 times (or until it is sold). You don't get charged or use up a free-insertion-fee listing for the relists.

If that option is available to you, then you can do what you asked about. However, be advised, once you have achieved enough selling experience, this option will disappear from your account (without any warning).

Re: Auction listing insertion fees

If you have to keep relisting every week, is it worth doing auctions?

List as a fixed price and you only have to do it once.

Re: Auction listing insertion fees

I agree with the other poster's advice: list just once in auction format if you're not sure about the item value. If it doesn't sell at auction after one or two tries, then switch to fixed price format which will use up only one  free insertion per month.

Just a small point of clarification regarding eBay jargon: Sellers get 250 free insertions per month if they have no Store subscription, or if they have a Store subscription at the "Starter" level.  The next tier of Store subscription is referred to as "Basic" and it gets 1000+ free insertions per month.
