Hey Everyone, are your sales noticeably slower now, that is in April? I do sell very specific type collectables and not everyday items. But if feels like someone hit the "PAUSE" button!!! Just wondering if it only me, or do you feel like things have slowed. Let me know, love to hear from you. Gary

Sales are slower in April for most sellers and will continue to decline through August before picking back up.
You need to compare your sales to the same period last year, not to the previous period to get a picture of how you're doing. May sales are about the same as they were last year at this time.
Here's a typical seasonal curve...we are in week 14 (marked with black line):
Your seasonal selling curve could be different.

Hey Gary!
Yes.....April has started out S L O W...........we have had several really nice sales (dollar-wise), so our sales numbers (total amount) is on track to be higher for April than March.......but very few actual sales compared to the month prior.
Need to list and just not motivated to do so.

Our sales are down but we're getting higher prices. Actually, some pretty good prices. Same money for less work!

Don't think I can go any higher, but I sure like that idea!!!!!! Thanks for your input!!

@central-highlands I don't know if this your only account for selling or not, but I know from experience, having been both a very small seller and a fairly large one (back to small) that the fewer items you have on offer, the wilder your selling swings will be, particularly if you (1) sell in a saturated category or (2) sell more speciality items, pieces that a collector or specialist shopper will be looking at. A large pool of items has more to grab eyes, and one has a bigger footprint, more selection. If you have only a handful of items, even selling one will cause your numbers to swing way up, then way down again because of the economy of scale.
I think you're doing quite well, actually. eBay has 1.5 billion items on offer. 😲 Just keep adding items, and varying your selection, etc., staying active.

Thank you, those are great words of wisdom!! I do need to bump up the number of items, because it is a numbers game as you point out, the more you list the more you sell. Thanks so much for your input!!!

Usually they come in on the weekend and the rest of the week looks like a roller coaster.

In the first 4 days of March, I had 10 days then 12 for the remainder of the month. It was my worst month, possibly, ever. In the first 8 days of April, I have *2* sales!! I have absolutely zero motivation to post anything new, although, 1 of my 2 sales was a new one that was only posted for a few hours. I can only hope the changing, warmer weather will mean more local FB sales / pickups because people want to move about. Local sales have been keeping me afloat. I will not do my best to rely on eBay sales. It would just be gravy. Good luck. 🙂
