Are sellers still having problems with USPS Tracking numbers?

Anyone know if the problem with labels giving old tracking numbers was resolved?

     I am not sure whether the problem was with eBay, USPS or the interface between the two but I purchase my labels off Pirate Ship and have had no issues with any of the tracking numbers.

I was debating on going to PS, but really don't want to have to 'go elsewhere'; way to easy to go here. 

This was a HUGE thing happening to many people per many threads just 3 days ago, including a 'blue' saying a 'ticket' was issued. 

Thought there would be more. I printed on Saturday morning (The day it was happening) and did NOT experience any issues; 

Went ahead and did one cheap thing an hour ago to 'test' it; looks to be ok, so printed the other 9 items, checked each one and no issues. 

Thought maybe someone would have known.

If you're referring to the issue that occurred on Saturday, Sept 29th - that was resolved by end of day Saturday.

USPS has been reusing tracking numbers for years.  It has been a problem on other venues as well.

If you're referring to the issue that occurred on Saturday, Sept 29th - that was resolved by end of day Saturday.

USPS has been reusing tracking numbers for years.  It has been a problem on other venues as well.

@wpt05 not talking about 6-50 months later...talking about the issue ebay had where the tracking numbers were 1 week old and already JUST showed delivered (obviously elsewhere) AFTER the seller had purchased the label, in which getting a refund was a nightmare because USPS doesn't refund for 'used' labels so it would be an Ebay refund as well as now you have 2 tracking numbers for a buyer should you have now went to PS or ?? and bought another label. Huge nightmare I would imagine...so I didn't want to be part of it.

I purchase from Stallion Express (my shipper in Canada) and they had this problem with getting old USPS tracking numbers about a month or two ago... that problem has been resolved, but from what I read of this thread it sounds like it's happening again while purchasing labels on eBay.

My issue with this problem is that the tracking number is not recycled when it's sold again to provide tracking on a new item. If the last item shows delivered, then there is no further tracking updates. I felt fortunate that I only had three incidents of recycled tracking, one I caught and repurchased the label, and the other two the buyers were honest and didn't file a claim or say anything to me about how their package shows delivered a month earlier.

I had the same problem with my shipper (Stallion Express) not refunding me for the "used" tracking (when I tried to void and purchase another label) because it was showing in their system as delivered, so no refund. I went to the head of customer service with my complaint and she gave me credit for all "used" tracking numbers, but for me it was only three shipments.

I printed 4 labels yesterday (2 from eBay, 2 elsewhere) and had no issues.
