We are getting very unusual prices when trying to print shipping today with Fed Ex Smart Post. I know the new pricing went into effect for USPS, but has that made Smart Post really out of whack? Just seeing if other have same issues.

Just checked the rates on the 14x8x8 at 4lbs again and this time it came up just over $16. Hmmmmm.

Tried 12x12x10 for 4lbs and it's over $26.... (just over $20 on FedEx.com for the same criteria).

Yeah that was a shock. Just had to do a Smartpost label. Three times what it's supposed to be, with dimensions factored in. I would print it anyways but what is eBay going to bill me for? USPS parcel select is coming up much cheaper.

It it would be nice if just once eBays programmers could get something right on first release.....

It's not "3x what it's supposed to be". SmartPost rates went up dramatically. If parcel post is cheaper then ship parcel post. I pulled down ALL my listings that would normally ship SmartPost and I'm working through how to price shipping now. I doubt these items will sell with the new higher prices until everyone figures the true cost and raises their rates as well.

Was a nice run, but I may be on the sidelines for a long time now.

Sorry, this morning mine was WAY off and it's not the increase. My label should have been $18 (with the new increase) and its come up as $44

i haven't used my fedx account in a while but am working with my rep to get it with Smartpost included.

What size is the box?

It took me 10 days to get SmartPost enabled correctly. There's some extra steps in your account setup that's not in the instructions they give you after the actual activation takes place. Don't remember specifically but it had to do with authorizing the new SP account under the existing shipper/manager. Was not intuiative.

The $44 price is probably correct as @dtexley3 stated.

There is a glitch and it's a bad one but it's the Smartpost amounts shown in the search results, the listing, and I assume at checkout. At least in my case, those amounts ARE NOT considering dimensional weight and are far too low. The high eBay Smartpost label prices are correct.

Hello everyone, I wanted to let you know that we are aware of some recent issues with FedEx SmartPost shipments. Recently, pricing changes were introduced and necessary updates were not made in time on our end. We are working to resolve problems with our shipping calculator, search results, view item pages and checkout. The pricing seen by sellers when printing SmartPost labels is accurate, but may be more than what the buyer was charged.

Until this is resolved, we recommend that sellers utilize an alternative service. Also be aware that lightweight packages (those under 10lb by weight or dimension) are typically the only sizes where SmartPost provides significant savings over other shipping services.

We apologize for any trouble this may have caused and will provide updates as they become available!

Hi everyone, I have an update on this topic to share: we've implemented fixes to the way that FedEx SmartPost costs are displayed that should resolve the recent problem with buyers seeing a different price than what you see when you went to print labels. I apologize for the trouble this may have caused and recommend contacting Customer Service if you have any questions about the shipping discrepancies you may have run into while this was an issue.

Mine is a shipping billing issue. Talked with CS over 30 times with no resolution.

We noticed that too as well as extra charges on our bill for dimensional. So we switched to Fed Ex Home or priority mail on most of our listings. No problems there.
