I had a buyer claim that a FedEx shipment was not received, but FedEx says it was deivered. It was an unsured shipment, so I filed a claim with FedEx for non-delivery which was summarily denied because the package was marked as delivered, so they would not honor the claim. It is not the first time one of my shipments with them has eresulted in problems, but it was the first time they completely denied they had any fault. They offered no proof of any steps they took to find out what might have happened to the package. I can imagine several ways it could have gone wrong. Is there any recourse for the buyer through eBay? They also denied the buyer's request becauese the package was marked as delivered by FedEx. I'm done shipping through FedEx as I cannot trust they will stand behind their service.

How do you know it wasnt delivered?
It could have been stolen after delivery.
Once an item shows delivered by any carrier there is nothing to "claim"

I have had a number of deliveries from FedEx showing delivered, even with a picture of where it was left. Come to find out, it was delivered to an apartment that was not mine. On another occasion, it was delivered to the office and they said the driver was so busy that day that he just left all the packages with the complex at the office. All were made good.

I had a big problem with FedEx repeatedly leaving my packages at my neighbor's house or on the driveway (where anyone can steal it). And I live in a condo project with 100 apartments (fortunately, my neighbors are honest).
The problem is these drivers are in such a big hurry they don't even want to open the gate and put in the yard. I had to contact FedEx corporate office and now driver gets automatic message reminding him to "leave packages inside gate" for all my incoming packages. Of course, this won't solve your EBAY problems (for outgoing packages).

Yes, that is possible, but buyer has a doorbell camera that showed nothing being delivered and he was home all day when it was supposed to be delivered.

FedEx just denied the claim, no delivery pictures or document showing the driver was at the correct single family home when he dropped it off.

Hmm did you first try and ask them to what address it was delivered to???
Buyer should have asked that to start with...
Of course the case was denied: shows delivered...

All carriers, USPS, UPS, FedEx have the same problem, delivery agents who leave parcels in the office/administration bldg of apt complex, wrong delivery to next door neighbor, misplacement of parcels and the like, this is not just a FedEx thing, as I've have and have seen others comment on the same in numerous threads in the past posting. Everyone is buying stuff, there are tons of parcels being process and only so many can be attend to at a time. On top of the usual excuse of staffing issues, pandemic, etc. It is not going to get better anytime soon.

I call 1-800-GOFEDEX. I get a customer service rep quickly and they can locate the drop off location on the GPS scanner that they use. They are suppose to do that for your on a item where they say it is delivered and the customer says not. They are suppose to start an investigation if they cannot comfier with you at that moment. One I had last week was dropped at a neighbor’s house 6 doors down. It got back to my customer.

You need to really confirm with Fed Ex on the delivery and make sure they investigate where it went. If they find driver has no scan when it was dropped THEY ARE LIABLE FOR THAT.

CORRECT, they have to confer with you delivery address which matches the account on ebay. If GPS scan shows that, no refund to,buyer. You are done.

So if they can show no proof that this package was scanned at the correct location they should still be held liable for a lost shipment. Driver incompetency not an excuse. Go back and fight the insurance claim with them. This is not acceptable.
