Anyone having issues shipping packages to Europe using USPS Priority Mail International?
One package to Poland fell off the face of the earth in Brussels and another is stuck in customs in France because I do not have an EORI number ( which is the first time I have ever heard this.)
I don't get it because packages utilizing the same service are getting to their destinations in the middle and far east and quickly too.
On another note, has eBAY Standard International Shipping improved since it was rolled out.
This shipping service was awful at the beginning but now I need to explore all options.
Thanks, datsuniverse

I have enough problems with direct domestic shipping to even consider direct international shipping. There is simply too much risk with customs, foreign delivery carriers, import regulations and other laws as well as greater scamming in some countries.
I do sell internationally but only through the EIS program, there is no more eBay Standard International Shipping it was replaced by EIS, never have figured out why they had to make the names so close. The program is still having some issues like protracted deliveries but I am not sure how they are doing with regards to refund requests, INR's, NAD's both from the eBay claim side as well as the chargeback side. I doubt that is information they will ever make available.
While the seller protections under EIS are outstanding if the quality of service EIS is providing is subpar it may become a pariah to foreign buyers.

Hi, getting an EORI number is easy. Just go on the UK government website and have your NI number ready. You’ll first have to register for a government gateway code but it’s simple.

Have shipped internationally for years without any trouble, (knock on wood!) but i have been selective on which countries i am willing to take the risk on.
So i exclude countries with 1) unreliable postal systems, 2) problematic customs agencies, 3) civil unrest or war, 4) that do not have eDel-Con tracking (see link below for more info on that USPS service).
But all this is no longer necessary when using eBay’s international shipping.
